Molly de st Andre

Molly at the Silkscreen

Molly de St Andre is a world traveler who recently got married, and relocated to The Berkshires in Western Massachusetts. Molly and her husband Aurelien (who you may recall as the winner of the Paperboy contest) have started their own silk-screening company Moho, and will soon be driving from Afghanistan to France in a Volkswagen bus that they renovated from a scrap metal yard in Afghanistan. Along with being an extremely talented and skilled artist, Molly also teaches deaf children.

I have a screen printing company called Moho Designs with my husband. We have lines of clothing, underwear, tableware, babyware, and cards. All hand silk screened, the freshest designs we can think of. We spend most all our time in the studio cooking up new stuff whenever possible. You can take a look on our etsy page or our website.

On being a Fluevoger:

I've been fluevogin for 7 years, most recently in the Radio CBC and it was love at first step.

On why Molly entered the FluevogCreative contest:

hmm, shoes? And just for fun. The shoe really inspired me.

On the inspiration behind her winning ad Follow Us:

The shoes just looked like little birds to me and the name fit that theme perfectly. I busted out my box of water colors and The Guide had it's first flight. It didn't take me too long, but I must have written the words "let us be your guide" 50 times before I got them the way I wanted them. There were also a lot of wings to choose from, I wanted them just right!

On other inspirations in Molly's life:

I am also a teacher for Deaf children, work that's taken me far and wide. Aside from silk screening, signing is my very favorite pastime.

On what the dreams and future hold for Molly de St Andre:

To silk screen the world. I love to travel. I spent two years in Afghanistan and then two years in Turkey most recently. My husband and I are on our way for an epic trip by Volkswagen mini bus from Afghanistan to the west coast of France this spring. We'll be fluevoging it all the way. You can follow our progress this spring at www.combinations.fr.

Keep an eye out in Bust, Juxtapoz, Vice and Wax Poetic magazines for Molly's winning design in print.
