OK - I already did a review on these because I so love the striped ones - but upon receiving them I immediately ordered the black ones and got them today. All I can say is that these are the shoes I longed for when I couldn't afford them and didn't know they existed. So I need to make up for lost time ;) These boots are the best, so comfortable, and cute, and well made - and you have to love a totally 1-piece sole/heel that is non-skid. I will be wearing these a lot!!!!!!!!!!!! Voggin right along ... and thanks again go Sean from the DC store who helped me identify my size so I got my first pair ;)

Huzzah! Cool stripes and a perfect fit!

A big thanks to Sean at the new DC Fluevog store, I can't wait to go there! I called on sizing since there was only size 7 online and I usually take a 6.5 in Vogs. Sean felt the 7 would fit in this style, so I scampered to the computer and bought them. So right! They fit great and I love the sole, no slippage here! I loved them so much I bought the black ones too!

,-) In. Love. I had to go a size up with these shoes, they are bit on the narrow size for my wide feet. I thought maybe the toe of the shoe was too chunky based on the website pictures, but they are actually not bad and quite feminine. So sassy yet classy with some tights and a nice dress.

Thrilled!

I just got my Striped Splendid pair and they are fantastic. I expected them to fit snugly and as I want to wear them with tights/knee highs I ordered them in my size. If you want them with socks, I suggest to order one size up if you can't try them in the store. The striped are definitely different which suits me perfectly. Weird that they have a heal and can be so comfortable - I soooo love them!

Splendids are Perfect (for me, anyway)

The striped version was my 13th pair of Fluevogs, and one of the few that I paid full price for. I walked into the store just after they hit the shelves, saw them, and after trying them on, knew they had to follow me home. I usually live in lower heels, but I can walk just fine in these. I wear them with skirts to show them off, and my friends all think they're weird, but then, they think I'm weird too, so it is indeed a great compliment. After the black ones went on sale, I debated it for a while, then the other day I was trying to decide what to wear to a "dressy casual" event and realized (not for the first time) that a pair of high heeled black ankle boots would be perfect. As the black Wickeds were all gone in my 9 1/2 size (although I check the web site every day hoping someone will return a pair) I realized that the black Splendids fit the bill nicely and were now at a great price, so happily snagged a pair. P.S. They're Fluevog pair #28.

I purchased the striped boots. I have to be completely honest and say they are most uncomfortable boots I have ever owned. This is the second time wearing them....Can't say I will try them a third time. The material is so hard it really rubs (rubbed off) the area just above my ankle (on both legs!) I have eight pairs of fluevogs... I am extremely disappointed in the overall quality, and comfortness in this shoe. If you are thinking about buying these boots I advise you to look on! (:-&

looks great, but fits bad

I was looking for a versatile black pair of heeled boots I could comfortably go all day in and thought that I would try with my first pair of Fluevogs, the Perfect Splendid in black. I love how the design looks, the square heel is a subtle beauty. I like that it is rubber and provides some traction and shock absorption. I have wide feet, so these were ideal because the front is square and not pointy. When I tried them on in store they seemed perfect. However, I found that actually wearing them on a regular day really hurt the top of the feet where the tongue of the shoe is (where feet starts to curve into the ankle). It is very tight and it pinches some tendons there. I tried loosening the laces but the problem is in the shoe structure. I also found that the arch support was not enough for my flat over-pronation feet. Feet hurt long after the shoes were off! Wished that these shoes were for me, because they look great, but sadly they compromise how my feet feel.

OMG! Amazingly comfortable and beautiful

I *love* these shoes!!! They just arrived today. My feet are very bony and normally I have to endure feeling embarassed by wearing ugly blob shaped shoes because my feet are always in pain without a lot of cushioning and a strong leather frame. These shoes are the first pair of heels I've been able to wear painlessly, meaning I really can wear them instead of just briefly. The rubber sole is thick and shock absorbant. The leather is sturdy, for those of us who without that structural support, have to wear flat shoes. Also because my feet are so bony and weak, normally the part of the shoe that goes over the top of the arch presses against my foot and cuts off my circulation (and if I can endure that normally I get a painful blister that will eventually bleed) but this one has no seem there and can be worn tied loosely and the foot can breathe. They stay on securely even without the shoelace, and offer strong structural support. The heel is where I need it, slightly under the arch so the arch does not hurt when I walk, and also they look very feminine. I am finally able to wear a feminine pair of heels and stop envying other women. I'm so happy with these I'm going to buy a second pair. Why? Because for me this shoe rules above all other shoes.

LOVE Fluevog!

I just bought the striped boot at the new store in Calgary. I was so excited when I saw them, I had to have them. In fact, I wore them out of the store!! I love the fact that even though you are walking on a 3-inch heel it doesn't feel like it. Very comfortable and of course, fun, fun, fun! :-D

I have the striped pair. I can't believe how comfortable they are. I have a very high instep and the lacing adjusts easily for that. I think I will have to get the black as well. I went up 1/2 size and they fit perfectly.
