Swordfish Womens |
An iconic Fluevog design from the 1980s, popularized by its
distinctive pointed toe shape, The Swordfish has been
re-imagined and updated by John into the radical shoe
Postmodern Slushy. Using tough, aged Texas leathers on
tunite soles, it's no wonder The Swordfish Postmodern Slushy
are hunted down by rockstars everywhere. The Postmodern
Slushy also includes a 3.5" leather-wrapped Cuban heel that
brings the Fluevog flair way over-the-top. Stay Sharp!!

I loved the Swordfish on the website, and when I went into the Seattle store, this was the only one they carried. I love the design; the straps fit above and below the ankle so they don't give the cankle effect. BUT they are massively uncomfortable. I don't think I've ever owned a pair of shoes that messed up the bottoms of my feet as quickly as these did. I've got a massive blister on the bottom of one foot and three smaller ones on the other, after about 20 minutes of walking. The pain on the bottom of my feet while standing still was excruciating. The back of the ankle rubs, but that is just due to them being new. There is no padding in the bottom of the shoe, and the angle from the heel to the flat is super steep, so all of my weight was on the ball of my foot. I love the style too much (and they are too expensive) to just resell, so I'm going to have to get creative and find some way to cushion me feet.

I'm sorry you're finding The Postmodern Slushy difficult! I know that our Fluevogologists will have some great tips to make them co-orporate. Fluevog Seattle would love to help! You can reach out either by phone, (206) 441-1065, or by email, email@example.com.
Thanks for loving Fluevog!

These are seriously sexy shoes!
These shoes come up above the ankle, so I expected them to cut my (short) legs in an unflattering way. But I loved the style so much I tried them on. Super sexy! The narrowness and shape of the tongue makes your ankle look narrower, not wider!
Combined with all the openness on the sides, and that gorgeous Swordfish toe, these are seriously kickass sexy shoes. The heel is a bit high, and with no padding, I agree that these are not 'walk to your destination' shoes - which meant that sadly, they didn't come home with me. But I'm still dreaming about them!

Feel like a rock star!
I bought these shoes the day after I moved to Toronto. I usually wear a 7.5 or an 8 in Fluevogs but in these I dropped down to a 6. I've long admired the vintage swordfish style so when they were brought back I knew I'd end up with a pair and these are stylish and sexy. I really do feel like a rock star in them. These aren't walking shoes though so get a pair of Amies for walking then buckle up these gorgeous strappy booties for a rockin' good time!

Amendment to Earlier Review
After logging about 2-3 miles of walking in these (over several different occasions), I have reluctantly sold them. The heel height was just "that much" too high for me; all my weight was on the balls of my feet, and not my heels, and with the insole being non-padded in any way, it was excruciating to walk in them on hard surfaces. Very sorry to say goodbye to these beloved babies, but...the good looks weren't worth the pain. These were an 8; perhaps Voggers with longer feet wouldn't have this problem, because of the angle of rise being lower on a longer foot.

Perfect for summer fun!
What an excellent shoe, a summer version of Surrealist Pizza of Prince George. Made a little adjustment but now fit so well, very comfortable, heel height not unreasonable at all. Can dress them up or down they fit into any venue. Chad and many of the staff at the Gastown store so helpful and awesome folks.

Changing Minds and Turning Heads
Before I bought these I posted a pic of them on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter and almost every person didn't like them. I ordered them anyhow (cuz that's how I roll), put them on, loved them, and then posted another pic - and suddenly everyone loved them. These are so amazing - comfortable, unusual, and totally, totally Fluevog.

They fit big!
These fabulous shoes fit BIG! I am an 8 in almost all Fluevogs and I dropped to a 7 (thanks for the guidance, San Fran!). The 7 are actually still roomy on me - clearly a quite different numbering system from any other Vogs!
Earlier reviewer Michele said she went "up" to a 10.5 - but there are no half sizes ...??? I've wanted the Swordfish for ages, but couldn't come at the Hamburger as I was so disappointed when the glorious curvy heel on the prototype was dropped. Now, these Postmoderns fit big but they are loooong - so if you're not tall (as I am not tall) practice walking in them so you don't trip over yourself while showing them off in public! :]

Saw these on the site and was mesmerized. The previous writeups were helpful so I went ahead and mad a purchase. I had sizing help, thankfully, as I would have been walking out of these puppies. True to size for me (I wear a 10 in most brands, and 11 in most newer vogs). Add these to your collection, they are stunning! @>-

Love love love
I was in love with these the minute I saw them on the website ... they're a throwback to my goth roots 20 years ago. Tried them on and they run fairly true to size - I'm a 10, I bought a 10.5. I wore them that night, walked all over SF up and down hills and love love love them. I did get a little hot spot on my little toe, but I have wide feet. Still love love love these :)
