Please don't discontinue these...
I only just found them. I tried to order the 1 pair the website said was left of the grey/black (in my size even!) and was told by the store that they are already gone. :(

I love these shoes I have a size 7.5 EEE foot with a high arch and I got a size 8 and they fit really well the stitching does not hit any of the common sensitive areas of my wide feet. Please don't discontinue them I was going to buy 3 more pairs. Every time I wear them someone comments how much they like them

I has a sad :(
I love the look and style of this shoe. And, despite them being slightly to large even though they seemed to fit perfectly in the store, they are really comfortable. But I am still very sad about these shoes and I don't know if I'll ever buy another pair of Fluevogs again. (These are my 3rd pair.)
I've had these shoes less than a year and the detail stitching on the uppers is coming undone. I paid a lot of money for these shoes and I am appalled that the are coming apart when not even a year old! I bought my first pair of Vogs in 1994 when in Amsterdam. They were awesome Angel Sole oxfords and I wore them almost every day for 5 years until I wore out the soles. Since the 90's I think something must have changed in the manufacture of Vogs tho because the next pair I bought, Derby Swirl boots, had to have the stitching repaired once and then the uppers are came up off the sole after only a few years of less-than-intense wear. Still, I loved the Henks so much I wanted to give it another shot. Much to my dismay, they didn't even make it a year.
I am disappointed. I love the style of Vogs but quality and durability (that I expected after my 1st pair) justifies the cost. Now I have switched to far less stylish, less expensive but higher quality shoes. :-(

These shoes were made in honor of my dad, Henk Boesten. I just bought a pair and feel honored wearing them! I am just sad they will be discontinued. I should have bought a few for friends ages ago, and now there is hardly any sizes left...They are so comfortable and I am SO happy with them!

great shoes- just misrepresented
An addendum to my earlier comment- I called the SF store that sent me my ALL BLACK - NO GRAY NUBUCK henks and the employee admitted that the shoes pictured on the website with gray nubuck DO NOT EXIST. Still, they are great shoes, I just don't like the look of the all black as much as the style with gray on the site. As I mentioned I also have a pair in brown- at $119, I'd buy a second pair in a heartbeat if they only still had my size...
Reply from Greg at Fluevog:
Hi Jesse, sorry the grey suede Henks were from a previous production. Although they still exist, it looks like your size in the grey is sold out. We will mention to John to bring back the grey ones.

It's taken me 11 years to finally go out and get my first pair of Fluevogs and I'm so happy with the Henks! I had to wear them out of the store because I was so excited!

suede is NOT gray
These are nice shoes BUT if you are hoping to get the same style you saw online BE WARNED: They are not the same color. I actually own both the brown and black versions of the Henks. The brown ones look just like the pictures online. The black ones DO NOT. They are not black with grey suede as described and pictured. The pair I recently received (Dec 2011) were black leather with BLACK suede. In my opinion they do not look near as nice as the ones with grey suede. Unfortunately this has greatly diminished my opinion of Fluevog Shoes. I would have tried to return them for the proper color but the return policy appears rather draconian and I don't trust them to get the order right if they couldn't do it the first time. Looking for an alternative to Fluevogs...

The best pair I've ever owned
These are the best shoes I've ever owned. Stylish and comfortable, classic but unique. I don't understand why they are being discontinued. I really don't. I heard they were a very good seller. My plan was to wear them into the ground and buy another. I'm sure you have your reasons, but please reconsider bringing them back. ?:-)
Shoes and a song to honour this man
I wanted to include a note that I wear these shoes regularly with great pride to honour my dad, Henk Boesten, who these were named after.
To further honour him, I have written a song & produced a video explaining more about the legacy he left. The full story is here: http://nicogroove.com/what-matters
Thanks again John & Co. for naming a great shoe after a great man.

Leather on the inside?
Once again, Fluevog demonstrates a high level of customer service and care. My last post was about the quality of the leather inside this shoe and the length of time it took to get it repaired. The next day I received a call from the shop telling me when I would be able to pick up my shoes. The staff at the Toronto location are simply the best. Friendly and armed with an encyclopaedic knowledge of their product line (past and present!) they deserve the highest praise. Not only do they provide expert service, they are a valuable part of the community and make Fluevog a must visit destination every time I pass by the store.
