This member of The Operetta Family celebrates the famous 18th century opera singer, Faustina Bordoni, in an ankle boot with a 2.5" heel, a minstrel rubber sole, oversized eyelets and bold interlace details. They're made with shiny Portuguese leather topped with soft nubuck at the quarter panels and tongue. Try these on and you'll discover there's an opera singer in all of us. (Fluevog staff have earplugs especially for this occasion). Your love makes me sing.

The Bordoni is true to size and very comfortable; with lots of room in the toes!

I didn't mean to do it...
I fell in love with these. I had gone into the Union Square SF store to pick up another pair of shoes I had ordered while on a trip to Boston. It was supposed to be a quick in-and-out. But...the sale was on. And I've had my eye on these. I was worried they'd be to narrow for my wide toes, but they are quite comfy for me, a nice roomy toe box. A bit loose on my skinny heel and ankle but not a deal-breaker by any means. Tiny bit of pressure on the pinky toes that I'm sure will go away with time given how supple the leather is. Wore them out of the box all day while taking a friend sightseeing around SF with nary a pang of pain and no doubt hat I had made the right decision--got bucketfuls of compliments. Can't wait to wear them with various tights, leggings and dresses! Love you Fluevog for making incredible works of art that are also comfortable on the feet.

The best service and style
I'd walked in looking to buy a completely different boot. It was the red and purple ankle boot, and I tried it on only to realize that it just wasn't me. Alas, my last hope for an ankle boot I liked, shattered. Well, having nothing else to do, and having struck up a pleasant non-pressured conversation with the sales associate I continued to look around.
There were a few that I picked up and put down, and then I saw these. The gentleman who was working with me brought both out -- the second pair I didn't even ask for, he just noticed me noticing them.
It was this pair from the moment I tried them on. I didn't think they'd be a dress boot, but they are. I have no fear of turned ankles, and my balance is perfect.
People with wider feet might be advised to go up a size, I'm an average width and it took some time to get the leather adjusted to my smallest toe (which got a wicked blister, but now there's no issues). I'd also advise putting an insert in where the ball of the foot rests. I don't believe that that is a manufacturer problem, it's simply that this boot tricks you into believing it's not a heel, and then you go walking around all day in it, sometimes it's best to give that load bearing part of your foot some cushioning.
I had a wonderful second time at Fluvog, and was happy as pie to come out with my second set of 'Vogs.
