CLEARANCE | Baroques: Cortona [Burgundy]
GROUPS:   Sale   Formal   Heel   Shoe   Womens

During the Baroque Art Period, art patrons called for a more dramatic and emotional design which, unbeknown to the artists, was displayed as a means of impressing visitors by expressing triumphant power and control. Being the art historian that John is, he drew correlations between the Baroque era and modern fashion, and drew inspiration from the grandiose and opulent Cortona palaces. Built on an exquisite and decadent Louis the 14th hexagonal heel, the laced-pump Cortona combines soft stamped suedes with robust patent tips. Perfect for those who understand the delicacies of visual curves and the contrapposto of royal materials. There is no fashion like old fashion.

Who needs "conservative work shoes"?

I ordered these after I accepted a job in retail cosmetics management. Our "costume" requirements demand closed toe, closed heel black shoes or boots. BORING. I knew that if I was going to stand around on my feet for 8 hours at a time, I needed a shoe that would reflect my personality and maintain comfort level throughout the day. Lucky me, I happened to catch the Cortona's in black on sale the week after I got my job - SCORE! These are REALLY comfortable - I was worried the heel would be hard, but you don't notice it. I am usually a 10 in most other shoes, and I wear a 10 in my Babycakes, but I went with my gut and ordered a 10.5 in the Cortona for some extra room in the toe box. Glad I did - the 10.5 fits perfectly. These do seem to be a little narrower than other 'Vogs, so keep that in mind. I'm considering putting a small arch support in them because the arch on these is a little nonexistent. The tooled suede detailing is perfect - just enough unique style peeking out from under my trousers without seeming totally anti-corporate! I SO wish I could own a pair in that gorgeous burgundy, but our dress code only allows black right now. If you have a chance to grab these while they're on sale, DO IT! It's a total bargain and these shoes feel like they'll be comfortable for years! :-)

Sexy, Comfortable, Awesome

These are superior in every way. FIrstly, I get compliments all the time. Elegant and sexy are the two words most used. Second, they are super comfortable. And I am not a heel person. Something about that octagonal heel, the grip, the arch--I dunno--but you can really wear and wear them. Third, they are unique, timeless, but without being dull. They are simply splendid. :-D :-D

Oh John! You clever soul! Not only are these the perfect marriage of stunning beautiful and all-day comfort. That in itself is quite an accomplishment. But no! These are more than mere footwear. They are time machines! Slipping them on my feet, I was immediately catapulted back to 17th century Venice, where I found myself dancing the bourrée amidst a kaleidoscope of masked and beautifully dressed courtesans, never missing a beat in my Cortonas.

LOVE these!

My dear husband got me a Fluevog gift card; so, I danced over to the Seattle store to see which lovely pair would love me back. These were the loveliest. I am NOT a wearer of high heels, but had heard how comfortable Vogs were, so I bought these. I can wear these ALL day long. They are very comfortable and many looks and compliments are thrown my way. Burgundy in color to coordinate with my signature berry color. I feel so good wearing them ]:o)

Rocked Job Interview

I wore these gorgeous exhibits foot art to a key life changing job interview yesterday. Had random complements that helped me get through a marathon of interviews. Okay, truthfully, after 8 hours my arches hurt. John, put some more stabilization in these wonders and they will stride into history as the greatest renaissance in shoe-dom.

hmmmmmmmm

*-O although very cute shoes, they didn't work for me. Too high for me to wear 8 hours a day. So they are going back. Big BUMMER is it is costing me $25 in postage total(both ways) to send back my $300 shoes (if you include tax)--something just doesn't seem right about that to me because for most of us $300 is a load of dough! I realize if I exchanged them postage is free, but I am still out $25 since I had to pay postage both ways to start with. I think----For $300 John should come to my house and pick them up! Just saying... (:`( *-O

Be my Fluventine - Forever yours

Got these beauties from my husband for Valentines day, after drooling over the page for the last few months. So thrilled!!! I was a little worried because I had heard that they were more suited to a narrow foot. But they slipped on beautifully and are very comfy. I'm just afraid I might walk out under a bus because I can't stop staring at my feet ~ happy dance!!! :-D

Shoe Porn Fantasy Come True!

I have been visiting this site drooling over various Vogs for years but I never took the plunge. This Christmas I wised up, put these beauties (and 3 others) on my Santa wish list and boy oh boy, did Santa deliver! (By Santa, I mean my mother-in-law @>- ) These shoes are absolutely stunning pieces of art. I strapped them on, hit a Christmas party and the compliments flew - even the guys knew they were in the presence of awesome! I ordered true to size; I have a wide foot and they were a tad snug when I first wore them but they molded to my foot providing a wonderfully comfy cocoon in no time. These may be the first Fluevogs I own but they will not be the last. AAHHH-MAZING, thank you!

Baroque love affair

I have been craving these beautiful pieces of art since they were launched. I even tried them on in August but didn't nibble as I thought I needed more everyday shoes. Finally on Remembrance Day - in celebration of my long gone mom who passed on that day, I took the plunge. They are gorgeous, I can wear the burgundy with everything, and they fit well, I went up 1/2 size because of width issues. They'll remind me of lovely mom when I wear them - what a bonus.

I bought these shoes on impulse a couple of weeks ago at the NYC store, and have fallen completely in love with them. They are both beautiful and comfortable. I have the black-on-black version, and they pair up equally well with jeans or a skirt and tights. I normally wear a 7.5, and these fit true-to-size for me.
