I might have to sleep in these boots- hell I might have to sleep with these boots!!

Love does not begin to describe how I feel about my Earl of Warwick boots. A perfect combo between motorcycle, western and riding- so sexy! The perfect heel height, I wore them out dancing the first night I got them and my feet still felt like a dream when I got home! As other reviewers have mentioned- these boots rug long in the foot- I wear a 10 in other Vog boots and the 9 had plenty of room to spare, with a generous toe box that does not press on my bumpy piggies. The leg is very narrow- I usually wear boots with a 13.5-14" calf and they only have a little room to spare. they also run surprisingly narrow in the foot with a low profile, especially given they are unisex. Still my AA's had room for a cushy arch support and thick sock. The quality is outstanding, hand-tooled leather shaft and soles with hand-hammered nails. They look and feel incredible and will last for decades. While they look/seem stiff, they are breaking in very quickly- I really never want to take them off! Thank you John- you have done it again! p.s.- a tip for getting them over skinny jeans- wrap an elastic band tightly around the bottom of your jeans. After slipping (tugging) your Earls on, reach through the zipper and cut the elastic, and voila!

These boots were made for strutting!

Gerry from Portland store is my shoe hero. While visiting USA from Australia last year Gerry sold me two amazing pairs of shoes, my first 'vogs and surely not my last (I also purchased the "Danielson's"). While in the store my husband tried on at least 10 pairs of shoes, but only purchased one pair. Gerry was so patient and full of shoe knowledge. He took time to make sure we had the right fit. My size wasn't in stock in the Portland store so they had them shipped to me in my tight time frame before I left to continue my travels south. They arrived in the nick of time with a lovely note, sticker and boot bags. Like others, I had to size down in these boots - I usually wear a 10, but the 9 was perfect. The calf is a firm fit, but not uncomfortable and they have stretched with wear. I can't wear them with skinny jeans, but luckily for me I only wanted to wear them with tights in winter. I just wore them all Australian winter long and have never had a blister or ache to complain of. I can't get them off in a timely manner without help, but the zipper at the ankle does help. Thanks Gerry & Mr Fluevog. I'm a convert and will be back to Portland in May 2013 for at least 3 more pairs I have my eyes on :) Perfect boots! I can't help but strut when I wear them.

in love with these boots!!

It took me 2 weeks before getting use to the shape of the boots and adapting my walk. I had them for 1 season and they got stolen 2 weeks ago from my apartment lobby ;( I need a new pair ;) the only boots who fits my small calf and big feet perfectly!!! Glad to see that they're still made ;)

Sleek and Stylish

The web-site picture does not capture the unique style and flair of these boots. You need to see them in person, to fully appreciate them. As others have said, the shaft of the boot is quite tight. Fear not, because the leather stretches to a PERFECT fit, with a few weeks of wear. Alternatively, if you are as impatient as I am, take your boots to the cobbler and have him stretch out the leg. Finally, I would advise that you buy one full size smaller than normal. These boots are long in the foot, and a bit wider in the instep. After a little bit of help from the cobbler (and a week or two of wear-in time) these boots now fit like a glove, and they look fantastic. High quality leather. Hand stitched upper and sole. Expensive, but worth every penny!

4 years and still going...

I have had these boots for 4 years and I am now just able to get them off by myself! What an acomplishment. I never want to wear any other shoe again...except for maybe the black ones.

These boots are made for walkin' !

It is more true to size, I initially got a size smaller (as recommended) but it was too tight and painful to walk on. I first ordered the black one with the ankle zipper which really helped. I liked it so much i ordered the brown one even though it doesnt have the zipper. I was able to break in the black one in 3 days. The brown one is next... for now is still in the box... The only problem I had is that the inner leather lining by the heel (of the foot) on one shoe was so thin it ripped after the 4th day of wearing it. Otherwise these are really cool tall boots for men!

Really high quality boot

I finally took these in to get stretched and put on Topys (these are REALLY REALLY slippery boots as-is). I could fit the calf without anything covering it but I found that these beautiful boots did not get any foot-love. The cobbler was gushing over these boots though. This shoe-family is extremely good quality and well-made.

Same as everyone else--the calves aren't made for humans. But the toe is boxy and the 7 fit this normally 7.5 wearer like a charm after getting the calves stretched. The cobbler loved the boots--said they were great quality, which you know is a good sign!

I want so badly to love these boots...this happens to me whenever I buy a new pair of shoes...I have to sit and stew about them...I have gotten many compliments and I don't hate them at all...BUT I wish that the heel was an inch taller ( the better to strut my dear) and the are awfully hard to take off (I don't want to be too agressive to the little babies and hurt them) anyway I think (idk if this is a sin against fluevog gods) I might get a "heel implant" to make them taller and bring the toe down in front and then I feel I will LOVE them more...I have outfits already picked out to wear with them and I want the boots to be perfect just like they should!

Don't be scared!

I understand the apprehension, in regards to the tight fitting calf portion. Never fear! They stretch wonderfully after a week or so. The original stiffness evens out nicely for everyday wear. I suggest going with a size smaller than one would normally wear, as you want them to still feel secure after break in. Having owned many a pair of cowboy boots, i knew the instep and toe portion would stretch too. All around wonderful boot, i feel like a badass every day in these babies!
