Feeling the need for a hip and casual unisex ankle boot, John created The Malcolm. Goodyear welted using soft, robust Mexican leathers on a rounded toe shape, leather soles with injected rubber inserts, oversized zippers, and raw canvas piping, The Malcolm Boot has a worn and pre-aged effect while creating the perfect everyday boot. Living to change the world.

The leather softens very nicely, especially across the width.

Do I have to ever take them off?
These were the first shoes I focused on when I walked into the Boston store (my reliable escape when in Boston for work) and it was love at first sight. Great fit, comfortable, and so much fun. The most casual pair in my Fluevog collection. Wore them with jeans, and now that I'm back in warmer weather, am pairing with skirts. PS. Thanks, Pete and Rachel of Newbury Street Vog.)
PPS Please please can we have an Atlanta store?

Winner of the best all-around shoe prize
Quite possibly the best pair of shoes I've ever owned (and, like most Fluevoggians/shoe-fetisharians, with slight embarrassment, I admit I've been through quite a number of shoes in my day...). Working in a hospital means being on your feet much of the day while trying to look professional (and cute), so I had to find something that checked all the boxes, stat. The Malcolm Living is IT. They're instantly comfortable, have a great shape (even more feminine than I expected), superb quality through-and-through, can be paired with nearly everything, and have just enough rock-and-roll edge to make a statement without shouting too loudly. (Oh yeah, they work great outside the hospital as well, of course). They run slightly large (I wear a 6.5 normally, so a 6 fits perfectly), and the toe box is narrower than described, which actually turned out to be a pleasant surprise for (my) narrow foot. The pricetag was at first a thing that makes one go "hmmm," but with the quality and the timelessness of these shoes, it's an excellent investment--these puppies will outlast the apocalypse. ;-)

I stopped by my local Fluevog store to say hello and see what was new and Wow, these popped out at me right away from across the room. I love the men's styles and am frequently a little deflated to discover they are not available in my size (women's 7.5-8). I was pleasantly surprised when Gerry told me these are unisex sizing. As soon as I got these on my feet, it was a pretty quick decision to purchase and wear them out of the store. They are super comfortable and can be styled by adjusting the zipper to be partially or even fully open. Perfect as a tough accent with a dress or skirt but of course would be just as great with jeans. I anticipate getting a lot of wear out of these as the weather gets colder. The sizing runs similar to the Radios in length but are a touch wider through the front of the foot and instep. The leather is a nice weight - very soft and thick - and is a good balance with the low heel. This is one of the all-time most awesome pair of Fluevogs I have
