The original inspiration behind the Guide was from when John was walking to the Fluevog Design Studio for a meeting, and was confronted by a Girl Guide selling cookies. John, feeling generous (and hungry), decided to buy many boxes of the tasty delicious cookies (the number was never confirmed) to bring back to his trusty, hard working employees. On his walk, his hunger got the best of him, and he started munching happily. First the box of chocolate mints... then the box of coconut cookies... then another box... By the time John got to the Design Studio, he realized he had eaten all of the cookies. He discarded the boxes and removed any evidence of what is now referred to as 'The Great Cookie Massacre.' Unfortunately for John, his story came out in the meeting when everyone remarked on his cookie crumb tie.
Chuckling to himself at the invaluable lesson he learned from his experience, John drew up a sexy ladies shoe that featured thick, soft leathers with pebbled surfaces, custom Fluevog buckles, a 3.5" curved heel, and a 1.5" hidden platform of recycled cork, all on a tunite sole with rubber grips. The Dutch are jealous
Their sabots have never looked so good! I've been haunting the website, waiting for these beauties to metamorph from drawings on a page to leather on my feet. Got 'em in dark orange and I can barely stand to take them off--actually fell asleep in them one day! They look faboo with skinny jeans and may even entice me to wear a skirt. They are so gorgeous in every small detail, it would be hard to pick just one wonderful thing, but the hot pink edging was an unexpected zing. Now I wanna be unfaithful to them with a pair in blue... hello, John? I sooo wanna see these as boots!
NO PANTS love herself the Guides
There is nothing else I can say but GOOD FANCY MOSES!!! I got these shoes and immediately did the happy dance around my house. They are just fabulous. They look amazing on my feet and are unbelievably comfortable. I wear a 10 normally and in these pairs of Fluevogs I seem to be most comfortable in a 10.5. The blue is my favorite Dutch Girl blue and I can see them looking awesome with all manners of dresses and skirts for the next 365 days!

They arrived today
I ordered them online and was as always exited. I am usually a 9 in Fluevog, and 9 was perfect.
The leather is soft and there is space above the toes.
The color surprised me though. I think they are more brick-red, then red orange.
Not that it matter. I can't take them off. ,-)

Ordered the red ones because you can't have a bad day when you're wearing red shoes. 7 1/2s were a little short, the 8's are perfect if I add a little under-the-ball-of-the-foot pad, but that's just because I have narrow, bony feet. Gorgeous, soft, and they smell so good - like an old shoe shop full of leather and polish. Thanks John!

Killer shoes
I bought these yesterday, in blue, after trying on half the shoes in the store. I am in love. These shoes are phenomenal! It's hard to find a shoe that is both sturdy and sexy, but these shoes fit the bill. I can't believe how comfortable and unique these babies are. The blood orange is also amazing. I have narrow feet, usually take a 7.5 in Fluevog's but went with the 7. I highly recommend ,-)

Add me to the ranks of people who bought these fabulous shoes in blue, though I have a feeling I might need them in brown, too. Delightful Monika at the Haight store helped me decide to go with my regular 7.5, saying that in the larger sizes (9 and over)a half size up has been the norm. They fit snugly but perfectly--the leather is just scrumptiously soft yet sturdy, heel very comfy.

I was recently in Vancouver and based on the website had narrowed down my next pair of fluevogs down to 3. That was before I'd seen these beauties. It was love at first sight. In blue.

Love them!
I called the Chicago store after seeing these online. Dustin was so nice and helpful! They were out of all colors except the orange red pair in my size and Dustin said if I was going to wear the awesome shoes I should put on the red and they would pop. My daughter picked them up and brought them home on the train and wow..... I cannot say enough... they are amazing! So beautiful and so very sexy on my feet. My husband LOVES them! I will be back for more! :-)

Cinnamon Colored Love
I saw these on the website a couple of weeks ago and fell in love. Such a gorgeous and high heel in beautiful colors which will go well being worn with pants or skirts - regardless of length. I knew they were coming home with me the minute I slipped my foot in - they run true to size and the leather is SO soft. I ended up wearing them while I walked around Haight St. for the next few hours and they were incredibly comfortable the entire time. I can't recommend these enough, out of all my pairs of 'Vogs, these are probably in the top 3. ()-)
