Another addition to the popular Prepare Family, The Portage is the bringing together of a classic fisherman sandal upper and our unconventional, much-loved Prepare construction. The top caging offers a slightly more closed-in option for those who want a breathable, light shoe without having an open toe. With vibrant Portuguese leathers this sandal will transition from the warmth of the summer sun to the chillier seasons, and the addition of some funky socks can give you a variety of looks that only you could pull off. Prepare for the Future, choose well today.

To celebrate my birthday in style I got myself a pair of these beauties in aqua! I got them in size 10, following the advice of other owners to get a 1/2 size bigger, only to realize once I put them on, that 9 1/2 (which is my size in all other Fluevogs) would have fit perfectly too. I am impressed by comfort and colour of the shoes as it can be matched with anything and everything you may come up with. Thank you John for creating such a wonderful comfortable shoe!

I'm going to add to the sizing confusion...
I typically wear a 9 in non-Fluevogs because my foot runs on the wide side. I take a 9.5 in the Guides. I took a chance and ordered these in a 9.5, figuring if they are a tad small I could stretch them a little, but they are PERFECT!
I didn't feel like they run small, or too narrow, or too low across the top of the foot. It was a Cinderella moment when I put them on! I can tell that I could wear these walking all day right out of the box with no issues (and I plan to do just that)! Totally adorable shoes! I got the lilac and intend to wear them as much as I can before the California winter arrives!
And HOORAH for fast shipping! I love how quickly these arrived at my door!

THE MOST FANTASTIC SHOES - Prepare Portage
I am posting a review to warn Prepare Family addicts that you can't just imagine you'll take the exact same size in the Portage as you would in the Guides, for example. Because of the cagey top, you will need to go up at least a half size, since the foot is narrower. In my case, I fit perfectly into the 9 in the Guides and assumed I could do the same in Portage - I left with the 9.5 in Portage but someone sitting beside me felt she had to go to a 10 in these while she was a 9 in the Guides as well- I guess what I'm saying is depending on how wide or narrow your foot is, you need to try these on, because while they're the same shoe as the Guide essentially, the caged top makes a big difference in sizing. That all being said, these are among my favourite pair of Vogs and I have a TON of them!!! The colour is amazing and they are comfortable beyond imagination, my 10 year old daughter thinks they're magic and so do I!

I am 5'5 3/4 in these beauties!
Scored a pair of these beauties, in black, at the sample sale on June 1. After gloating about my score on various social media outlets, complete with pictures, I wore them to a baseball fundraiser. Made sure to wear capri's to show off their striking and unusual beauty. And not only am I tall(er) but the thick straps make them super secure. My feet were pain-free all night. Which never happens in a 4' inch heel...unless their a Fluevog heel of course!

The lilacs are in bloom again.
I am a Prepare family addict: own Guides, Merits, Volunteers, plus Prepare-Hi Rappels and two pair Steadys--so it's no shock I sauntered into ChiTown yesterday to get a pair of lilac Portages. I knew they would be comfortable (I have a 9 5/8 inch foot so I took an 8 1/2 in the Portage) and easy to move in, and I knew they'd make me smile with their sassy recurved heels and fisherman sandal toes. What I was not expecting was how they'd take 50 years off my life, rocketing me back to age six and my first pair of easter Mary Janes, which I adored. The color is like those malted milk robins egg candies that you lick and then paint your lips with, turning into a blue- or purple-mouthed genie with a lifetime of wishes ahead. I have Spring in my stride thanks to Saint John, and with these fabulous chaussures to "portage" me over the rough spots, my heart simply floats along.

My feet are celebrating today...purple, hyper comfortable, with a wonderful feel. I wore them through ORD, found them to be a comfortable walking shoe and was stopped 3X by people wanting to complement these shoes! Fluevog did it again!
