For all of you ladies longingly staring at The Fortitude Family, now's your chance to grab your own! The Luthers are a menswear inspired pattern made with stiff, shiny Italian leather and buckles. They're designed with basic, classic style on a long footbed with a rounded toe-shape, reliable partial blake construction, leather soles, and stacked leather heels. Following in line with the Wabi Sabi notion that nothing is permanent and beauty is in the imperfections of aging, Luther will only get better with wear. Unlike the other members of the family, this one is just for the girls. Honesty is strength.

Subtle yet Awesome
I have a pair of bright silver Angels but sometimes they're too much for an outfit. I was so excited to see a more subdued silver shoe and snatched them up right away because a girl can never have too many pairs of silver shoes right? I was also thrilled to see John going back to his roots by issuing something that most definitely would not be found in your average shoe store. The design and construction of the shoe are excellent as always, but the willingness to go there with the colour choice is what really makes this shoe Fluevog. There are enough brown and black shoes in this world that I want to jump up and down and scream YES! when something wholly different comes along.
The fit on this one runs small and is one to try on in a store if you can. They are very flat in the toe, which may be a problem for those blessed with large toes. The silver does not stretch at all with wear.

Love These Shoes!!
I have requested that John make these shoes unisex. My dreams were answered finally!! The wonderful crew in Boston were fabulous as always. I had to go up 1/2 size with these. My feet are on the wide side but these were perfect. The New York city folks shipped them with treats in the box and a wonderful hand written note. I wore them for 8 hours the next day and had no issues at all. I can only wear flat shoes and these are a dream come true!!! The only thing I ask is More Colors Please!!!

Beautiful shoe with a poor fit
For years I have been a loyal Fluevog shopper. I own 13 pairs. My most recent purchase was the Burgandy Luther. My first day wearing them was not good. The fit especially on my left foot was so uncomfortable I had to keep them off whenever I was sitting. I brought them back to the store and three times they stretched them and with no satisfaction to me as I tried again after the stretching and again had to take off the shoe whenever I was sitting. I expressed my dissatisfaction and asked for a return or exchange but I was told and already aware of the policy, no returns on worn shoes. I appreciate their holding up to their policy but am disappointed they were knowingly doing so at the expense of a loyal customer. I have since talked with Monika at the SF store and they are now in her hands and she will too try and stretch them. This is a lot of work for an over $300 pair of shoes. Beautiful shoe, poor fit for me and so disappointed in the outcome. Before this experience I only had great things to say about Fluevog and the customer care and service they showed me. I will miss adding to my collection.

As a guy with feet slightly smaller than the smallest men's size offered in most retail stores, I was incredibly happy to finally find a monk strap shoe that fit.
They do run somewhat smaller and more narrow than most Fluevog shoes. I normally fit a M6/W8. If you feet like mine that tend to be wide, I would suggest going up half a size to compensate for its narrow fit. The shoe still fit comfortably snug around my ankles, feeling secure on my feet despite the slight addition to the length while.
I bought these shoes at the Montréal store on St-Denis. The staff were incredibly helpful, genuinely friendly, conversational, and cared more about meeting the customer's needs than trying to make a hard sell.
