Based off of the legendary "Grand National" cloven hooved boot, John has created an inverse heel in the LA family. A sexy bootie with a 6" heel molded in an Italian factory that specializes in extreme high heels, the Silverlake is a bootie made for naughty naughty girls (or boys). A BoHo ankle boot made of Italian Luminato leathers, gold leather lining, and a 6" wedged heel, these heels are what anyone between the Ivanhoe and Sunset wears when fighting off the paparazzi (or hunting down prey).

High Heel Heaven
Well,it took three visits to the shop to finally decide on which LA model to buy. In the end it was the Silverlake over the Mulholland. The Mulholland reminded me of my Grand National Corset Boot with its unique tight lacing feeling. The Silverland provids more support with its high arch design and somewhat snug feeling and very soft leather. The heel height is perfect and very easy to walk in for long periods. The folks at the Boston store are fabulous especially "Ali". I now own 3 Vogs and counting. I just wonder what new design can John come up with that can rival the GN and now the LA.

These are much more comfortable than you'd expect. The boot is snug around the foot and it really helps you feel secure on the heels. Walking in them is really not so hard. Because the boot is so supportive, you don't feel like you're about to fall off them. The snugness also seems to help distribute your weight on the sole, so compared to the slingbacks, these were much more comfortable for me. I'm a 7.5 and I have very high arches that sometimes makes shoes too tight over the instep. These were snug, but they fit great and they were comfy. The 7 is perfect in length and width. They're not shoes I'd want to walk all over the city in, but they're much more wearable than probably any other shoe you'll find with such an extreme heel.
They look great with pretty much everything, but personally I'd only wear them with skirts and cropped pants -- pants that cover the ankle tend to make you look, at first glance, like you have freakishly small feet. (Not to mention, that slight flare at the ankle visually balances the shoe and is part of the presentation! Don't hide the design! )

This isn't usually my kind of shoe, but when I saw them, I had to have them. I've long mourned the fact that I become a Fluevog'er long after the original Grand Nationals came out. They look incredible on, and the leather is sooooo soft and comfy. It's going to take a little practice walking in them, though!

I tried on the 1st pair in Chicago - and bought 'em. I think they're going to be a lot of fun! Can't wait to wear them out!
