The idea of appreciating natural beauty stood out to me when I read the design brief for the lovely K2 lace up booties. Rather than looking at the sky for inspiration - I chose to concentrate on the earth, particularly wood and its inherent natural beauty which goes well with everything. The use of an artist's model in a seated pose suggests neither male nor female gender nor any particular features - just a representation of the human form in its beautiful simplicity. The design is made up of a technique I developed based on separate layers of hand drawings combined with photographic images.
