Amy Rice is a Minneapolis based artist who works with stencils and a variety of mediums to produce pieces that employ quasi-repetitive imagery in fresh new ways. Her backgrounds are not only canvas, but barn shingles and cupboard doors as well, adding to the depth and layering inherent in her chosen medium. The Mayor of Minneapolis has credited Amy for assisting in the rebirth of a blighted Minneapolis neighborhood with her mural work both as an independent artist and as an organizer of community mural activities.
