OCTOBER 2006 - John Fluevog Shoes
As long as there have been shoes, there have been bags. That was all the motivation Canadian Shoe Designer John Fluevog needed to start down the mysterious road of 'the bag'. Sure there has been dabbling in the past, but Fluevog is chuffed to announce that bags are going to start being a significant portion of his product offering. "Many years ago I discovered that people needed shoes, so I started designing and producing unique soles for unique souls", says John. "We have recently learned that people also need bags and purses to aid in the transport of personal effects - it's only natural that we increase our offering to include these items - it's like the yin and yang, it just makes sense."
Tough Love Bag
For the stylish urbanite who has everything but nowhere to put it. The Tough Love Bag declares its lineage to the jet set bags of the 70’s. While those ubiquitous vinyl carry-ons are useful, they lack a certain quality. We have taken the new city hopper and provided them with a top drawer alternative. We found a buttery soft glossy leather and contrasted that against tough scratched up leather accents, all harnessed in with a wide, stable and lightly padded adjustable strap. Perfect for most any essentials needed on any excursion past your front door. (shown above)

The ModVog bag is a fun, unique-shaped clutch that hearkens back to an era when Emma Peel kicked it in a catsuit and all good gentlemen went to parties in smart two button suits. The ModVog has a simple layout and two minimal pockets to house only the most important of objects, leaving the clever city girl to fend for herself with a limited arsenal of essentials, all well guarded by an envelop of beautifully undulating high grain leather ($195 US, $229 CA).

The Romance bag is beauty and function all tied together with a big pretty bow. The bag was painstakingly laid out to maximize organization and ease of access - there are compartments, zips, openings and slots and all types of loveliness inside. The modest form of the exterior is wrapped in a luxuriously embossed hand crafted Italian leather that truly stands on its own. Like the very notion of romance; one should be equally enamored with both the surface and with that which lies within ($249 US, $299 CA).

Perfect for the rugged urban book worm, the Fraser Book Bag can carry mini Middle-Eastern prayer books, large coffee table books on mid-century furniture design used solely to impress friends, or new age, self-help magazines on the evolution of the Self according to Pat Taurus (Note: Fraser Book Bag can also carry regular books along with a variety of other essentials). Made with soft yet sturdy Texas leather, The Fraser has two front pockets, two main compartments and a magazine slot front and back ($349 US, $425 CA).

"The Best Laptop Bag on the Planet right now..." - Fluevog Magazine. The 240 Wagon Laptop bag is beautifully stylish, while being able to embrace everyday abuse and as much travel you can throw at it. Intuitively designed for everything you'd need when out and about - whether that's at the local Japanese Coffee Shop or under a very large tree. Made with rugged leather that, like its owner, looks better with age, the 240 has a separate compartment inside for a 12" or 14" laptop and a number of pockets, flapped or zipped, throughout ($359 US, $439 CA).
