July 23, 2012 - John Fluevog Shoes
After two hundred years of searching, John Fluevog has finally found the perfect retail space and location to open John Fluevog Washington D.C.! Aiming to have the doors open for the final run of election season (August 2012), JF DC will occupy a space on Wisconsin Avenue within historic Georgetown. Washington D.C. has long been a target city for John Fluevog Shoes as it has always held a special place in John's heart, especially after he was forced to flee the city when the British burned down his Ye Olde Fluevog Shoe Shoppe on High Street in 1812.

John's new Washington D.C. retail space is in a restored heritage building in Georgetown, built of clay bricks from the Potomac River that date back to the start of the last century. Reflecting John's positive and bright messages, the space will be completely Fluevogified with Pop Art inspired Shoe-Art and panels in bright, modern colours creating an interesting juxtaposition with historical Georgetown. The back room of the retail store, The Mens Department, is outfitted to resemble a retro-70's lounge with teak wood walls, leather couches, and velvet curtains, perfect for a relaxing shopping experience among the most unique shoes in the World. There is also a rumour that John has plans for a run at politics if the laws allow it (we know Arnold Schwarzenegger can find a loophole to run for the Oval Office 2016).

Known for its fashionable shopping and tasty restaurants, Georgetown is the perfect area for a stroll, as you wander down the cobblestones to have a bite, shop for unique shoes, or just hang out in the many pubs where history was written (and rewritten). One can even find the creepy staircase and recreate the ending to The Exorcist! Eeeek!

It certainly won't be long now, and we can't wait to finally open. See you in August!!
