How it's made: The Operetta Dr. Henry

Inspired by British Columbia's chief provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry, The Dr. Henry shoe begins its journey at a small factory in Portugal.

[Text: The Dr. Henry shoe] [Music and factory sounds] Skilled craftspeople from Portugal construct a pair of the Dr. Henry shoes starting from the leather pieces all the way to the finished product. The shoes are then carefully packed in the classic Fluevog box.

  • Absolutely amazing

I can't believe I waited so long to get these absolutely classic shoes! The blue colour looks great with my black, teal, purple, maroon outfits. I wear a 7.5 in most vogs, but these are a bit short in length, so I sized up to an 8. Room for toes to spread out! Comfortable support for my high arch, so wearing the heel for hours is a breeze! These are my new favourite-for-me vogs! Highly recommended

  • Wore them all day for my Son's Wedding

This was my first pair of Fluevogs but it was not my last!

As soon as I saw the Blue pair I knew that I had to have them! I have never been a shoe fanatic but these shoes are amazing, so comfortable and stylish!

I wore them for 16 hours for my Son's wedding and never had sore feet at all!

This was my first time wearing them! I was on my feet the entire time and danced all night!

    I wear a size 6 and I bought a size 6. They fit true.

  • So Pretty

These Operetta Dr Henry Mary Jane shoes are so pretty. The so shiny two toned blue is so cute. They are a bit stiff as another said, but after wearing them for an hour, they don’t feel as stiff, so I believe wearing them around the house for a short while will make them perfect for all day wear. I wear a 9.5-10 street size so I ordered an 11 but they just fit like my street shoes so they do run small. I always buy a size 11 in my Fluevogs & they are a little long but a 10.5 are a little too short. My first pr are a 10.5 & I wish I’d have ordered an 11, but they were my first “Vogas.” I likely should return these for a 11.5 but am afraid they’ll be too long. I’m used to some toe wiggle room in my “Vogs.” I take a medium width & these are a little wide but cinching the buckled strap to the tightest hole keeps them just fine & my foot from sliding to the toe. You won’t be disappointed in these beauties.

  • I can’t wear these without strangers stopping me

Honestly, I have never worn these shoes in public without at least one person stopping me to say how much they love them. They are so comfortable on top of that - I have finicky feet and often struggle with heels but can wear these all day. I got these in blue as my first pair of Fluevogs and now I am a complete convert. These shoes may not save lives but they WILL look amazing while you are saving lives!

  • Demure and funky at the same time

I ordered the Dr. Henry in the blue, and they are darling. Fit perfectly in a 10, which is my standard Vog size. Rubber sole and heel make them very stable to walk in and cushion your step. One note: the pics on the site make it look like the light blue portion is iridescent. It's not, but is a crinkly patent, so the light may have caught it differently. Not a disappointment, just an FYI. The dark blue toe cap has a subtle shimmer.

  • Disappointed. Too many defects.

I bought these in blue 3 days ago (8/19/23) in Newbury St. it was the last pair of 8.5 so I decided to buy them, but I’m completely disappointed with the quality of Fluevog. The shoes are full of defects, I don’t know if they were returned and now sold “as new” or the company’s quality control is bad. Heel is scratched, rubber borders are damage all around sole, the insole in one shoe is damaged… I have never seen so many defects in one pair of shoes, sold as new, for full price. It was my decision to buy them, after trying many different model these were the ones I like and they felt good on my feet. I’m regretting the decision after taking a closer look at home. Fluevog, your quality control is declining, and your shoes aren’t worth hundreds of dollars anymore.

  • Love my Dr. Henry shoes!

I got the blue version the first day they were available. But I had no where to go for months due to Covid Restrictions! Finally I got to wear them...to the vaccine clinic for my shot!!! Everyone loved them! I am both a Dr Bonnie and a Fluevog fan!

  • Everyone loves these shoes!

I almost ordered the original Dr Henrys (to show support for BH), but since I don’t wear pink I didn’t. So I was thrilled to see the blue version and ordered a pair as a birthday present for myself. I didn’t have the chance to wear them until April (I now wear scrubs at work Instead of real clothes) when I worked as an official at an Olympic Qualifying tournament in Costa Rica. Everyone commented on my beautiful shoes, and the Costa Rican Minister of Sports even took a photo of them! I proudly told everyone that they were a Canadian brand called Fluevogs.

  • This is a first - and makes me sad

I have been a fan of Fluevog since the 90's so I know the quality that is the JF standard...which is why this is so upsetting. I bought these not long ago (in two colours) and had only worn the pink and white ones for the third time when this happened. It was a normal work day, with about as much walking as you can expect from someone who has an office job. The bottom of the shoe, inside the toe box gave out and now there is a groove where my toes lie. Instead of walking on padded leather that is uniform the length of the shoe, it's like I stepped in wet concrete, and now have to walk in the casting. For whatever reason I don't understand, it causes my toes to "fall asleep"/they go numb...so I dont think I'll get much use out these. It's a sad day when you have to retire a brand new pair of Vogs.

  • What would a BC girl be without Dr. Bonnie Henry shoes?!

I can't thank Petrea - Amsterdam NL, enough for notifying mme that they just received a shipmment of Dr. Henry in blue!!!

I've wanted themm since I first saw themm but size 10 was too smmall (toes right at the end). I need wiggle roomm.

Thrilled that size 10.5 accommodates mmy feet.

Mme & mmy BC heart and mmy Dr. Henry shoes are going to proudly go places😁

  • Cute and comfy right out of the box

Another amazing mary jane style shoe from the best shoe company in the world! I wear an 8 in the Operettas but find these fit a tad smaller than some of my other Operettas. The 8 still worked out, just no wiggle room in the toe box for my short wide foot. These are incredibly comfortable out of the box. I got them in purple and red and the contrast in shine and colour is spot on! The purple is lovely, and I think they look better in person than in the store pics. Im sorry I missed them in the blue. Please come out with more fun colours!!!

  • Love these!

I've purchased these for my wedding. I thought - what better shoes for a pandemic? They are gorgeous. The packaging was impeccable and the little personal touches from the Toronto Store (they wrote that they hope I get to wear these special places after the pandemic as well) really made my day. I put them on and I felt suddenly quite weepy - in a good way! Sort of salve/souvenir that made me feel really fussed over - at a time when there has been no way to make much of a fuss about our upcoming wedding. Sincere thanks to staff and John. <3

  • Beautiful & Comfortable Shoe

The pink/burgundy LE colourway was my first introduction to Fluevogs - I needed a shoe for my wedding and my friend, a vogger, showed me this one. It was exactly what I wanted and I loved that proceeds from the sale were being donated. I succeeded in getting a pair and haven’t regretted it - it’s a beautiful shoe, and fits true to size for me (street size 6, and I ordered this in a 6). The heel isn’t too high and it’s very stable; I could run in them if I had to. I wore them all afternoon and evening of my wedding day and also wore them out the next day, and felt comfortable in them (I did made sure to wear them before the wedding to break them in). They can be worn with fancy dress or jeans - very versatile shoes!

  • I was able to snag the blue in the restock in October. I was thrilled. I didn’t even try for the pinks, though they are lovely too. I am glad i got the blue, it’s a gorgeous color. I just wanted to review for sizing for the next restock. I buy mostly online and find the sizing reviews the most helpful. I wear a 6.5 in Malibrans as well as Liz. For most vogs I am a 6.5 or 7. I can’t wear the narrow styles, I have a wide foot and love the rounded or square toe box styles. My Malibrans fit with a bit more room along the instep. The Dr. Henry shoes are just a bit shorter in length, I think bc the patent leather is tighter, and a bit more narrow. I have long toes too, and went with a 6.5. The length is perfect, the width is just a tad small, but I have a very wide forefoot. I think they fit pretty true to my vog size, despite the wide foot and long toes.

  • Beautiful in Blue

Almost happy I didn't succeed in getting the original pink, which I do like, but the blue version is stunning! Managed to get a pair when the blue and black were first available (Aug?)in small quantities, but wish I'd known they were going to come back in stock -- I rushed to order a pair and got size 10 which do fit, but I think a 101/2 would be a bit better. However, after wearing them a few times I see there is some give to the leather, and if necessary I've been told they can be stretched at any Fluevog store. I haven't worn heels in years, other than low wedges, but these are amazingly comfortable as they're almost a block-style heel which gives more support and stability. Not only do I love these shoes as beautiful footwear, and in a shade of blue that's difficult to find in other brands, but it's a great tribute to Dr Bonnie Henry, an amazing souvenir of this extraordinary year, and good to know it's also supporting a worthwhile cause.

  • Love them in the gorgeous shades of blue! I'm a 7.5 in most Operettas--Fiorenza, Malibran--and needed an 8 in Melis so decided to get Dr Henry in 8 as well; perfect choice, the patent was a bit tight at first but settled in nicely after a few hours.

  • Totally in love with these shoe babies

The style and fit are very comfortable for my wife feet. I'm usually a solid 10.5 in Vogs, sized a half size up for my Dr Henry's after recommendation said that Operettas fit a little short. Lots of room in the toe box, no squished toes, I can wear them all day. 💗
