  • My dream shoe!

I have been wanting these for a long time, but was worried they might not be comfortable enough for everyday wear. I normally wear a size 7.5, and bought these in an 8, which fits perfectly. They definitely do run narrow, just because of the shape and pointed toe, but I don’t have narrow feet and they fit me just fine. I don’t know that I could wear them if I had a job where I’m on my feet all day, but for my lifestyle they’re great. I got them in black and I’m tempted to get the purple velvet, too.

  • Been eying these for years

I finally bought these when they were on sale. After carefully reading the reviews, I have decided to buy half a size bigger than my “normal” Vog size. I normally wear a street size 9-9.5 and a 10 in 95% of my Vogs. These were love at first try! Even my 12 year old (she fits in my shoes) wants to wear them! My foot is with a high in-step, normal width. I am able to wear a thin sock comfortably in these shoes. I definitely recommend going half a size up at least, though I am comfortable in the size I picked. ❤️ These are not only comfortable but super comfy! Can’t go wrong with these!!!! Cheers!

  • Classics!

This was the first pain of Vogs I ever bought (now I have quite the collection forming!). My usually size 9 feet fit perfectly into my size 9 Pilgrims with lightweight socks.

  • I snagged the last pair in lipstick red, they are TTS, and stunning! They go with so many more outfits than I imagined and give such a great pop of colour!

  • Witchy, in a good way

I have two pairs of these, in Burgundy and a nice chocolate brown. The Burgundy were actually my very first pair of dogs, many years ago. True to size, very comfy, great with jeans, work pants or skirts. Any after many years of wear, my heels are not stripped, although I don't think I would walk on a gravel road with them, and I am careful about driving in them

  • Nice Shoes indeed

I have received my fluevogs and they are so cute! I love the witchy vibe they give off and how they fit my feet. I feel like I've stepped into a different time while wearing them. I also love the sound of the small heel on the ground outside or the floor inside. I've seen where other reviewers said that the heel degrades to show the plastic form underneath. I hope that doesn't happen to me too. Thank you Malcolm J for packing my box! I'm a 7.5 street shoe and bought these in the same size. They fit TTS (True-To-Size.)

  • I LOVE my Pilgrims! So Witchy and comfortable. I wear a street size 10 and got them in a 10.5. They fit wonderfully and my feet are not narrow. I may buy them in an 11 next time to accommodate socks. I will definitely be buying more colors though.

  • FINALLY!

Pilgrim shoes have been on my buy list for a long time but having a wider foot did not want to purchase them online. I walked into the Water St store in Vancouver on Monday and the fabulous & friendly Tamara helped me choose the proper size. My everyday shoes are a size 9 and purchased the Pilgrim in a 9 1/2. I wore the shoes to work yesterday and my feet were singing, thank you!

  • My first pair of Truths

The Pilgrims are one of the few pairs of non-boot shoes I own. I had been eyeing them for ages and just love how witchy they look! I wear a 7-7.5 and have a narrow and high instep with a slightly wider forefoot. I also wear a thin cushioned insole because I work on my feet. I consistently wear a 7.5 in the Truth family and they are SO comfy. As mentioned in other reviews, the one biggest flaw in these is the leather wrapped heel. Upon purchasing them, I assumed they were wood, but the inside edges can get damaged, revealing the plastic form underneath....which I managed to find out after only my first or second wear. Luckily my husband was able to patch it and they are just fine now.

  • Warning!!!

I have fallen twice wearing the shoes. When you take your step if you don’t pay attention to your stride so that you land directly on the heel pad, if you are off by a minuscule measurement you will fall down. Your foot goes flying forward and you are done. I have fallen twice and hurt myself badly, not only to mention being extremely embarrassed. I would not recommend buying these shoes ever. They look great but they are extremely dangerous. For your safety avoid this style at all costs! I would like my money back actually.

  • Rivet fell off

I love my Pilgrims; however, only wearing them a handful of times, one of the rivets fell off. How can I get Fluvog to send me a new rivet or two so I can fix them? I know the rivet is only superficial, but I would like these gorgeous shoes to look their best. Please let me know. Thank you.

    John Fluevog Shoes

Hi Luisa! Replacement parts can be ordered by calling any of our stores ;) vo.gg/stores

  • Ok. I LOVE THESE. They are comfortable. I have wide feet, and normally wear a size 11 in regular shoes. I bought a 12 and they are perfect.

I have one issue, though. The shoes come with the buckle done up at the middlemost point. As a result, if you change the strap setting, you are left with a permanent crease embossed in the leather from the buckle.

For almost $400, I would have expected Fouevog to consider this and to store unbought shoes with the buckles undone so as to prevent this.

It’s a bummer, because the shoes are perfect, and I feel like I paid top dollar only to be punished with a defect due to needing a wider buckle setting.

  • My First Pair of Fluevogs

I've been eyeing the Pilgrims for a while now and finally pulled the trigger. They are even more beautiful in person and the leather is super soft. I got my usual size of 8.5, and they were a taaaad tight on my big toe. Nothing too crazy, but a little small. But I decided to try stretching them myself, so I put on a couple of pairs of socks and hit them with a little heat from a hair dryer and they fit perfect now. If you don't want to go through all that though, I would say go up a half size.

  • CAN'T RESIST THE RED

I walked into the Granville store to pick up a pair of stretched boots, and walked out with two new pairs of Truths. No regrets! The last few pairs of Vogs that I've bought have been black and relatively subtle, so I was itching for something bold. The Pilgrims in lipstick stopped me in my tracks, and I had to have them. These are my fourth pair of Truths, and I love them for work - the low heel is super comfortable, and I always get compliments.

I'm a 6.5 in most Vogs, but I size up to a 7 in Truths.

Shoutout to Evangeline at the Granville store, who's helped me twice this month and enabled the purchase of four new pairs. She was awesome!

  • My First Pilgrim

I waited with anticipation for these shoes to arrive after reading all the great reviews. When I finally slipped them on yesterday I was not disappointed. I've been wearing them all day and my feet feel great.

I will be ordering more of this style for sure.

  • Finally got my Pilgrims!!!!

I have eyed these little wonders for a couple of years and finally tried them on and it was an instant, yes I have to have these. I had to go down to 5:5 for them as they fit larger I think. Got them in black and wore them day after I got them, for 10 hours with no problem. They are super comfortable, look great with anything and have a very distinctive look. Glad I finally got them. They join my extensive Fluevog collection.

  • Move over Pilgrim! This one's the real deal!

I forget which # pair this was for me but as usual, it was love ❤️ at first wear! While aptly named, they are fun without being too much for work and the heel (3 of my Vogs have this style/height) makes them perfect for all day wear... I have a high arch and high instep so I feel my toes tingling after a full days wear but they are beautiful and just get better with wear! True to size fit!

  • Love these .... but

I bought these shoes while on a trip to L A last winter after longing for the for them for a year. After I had owned them for only six months the material that covers the heel started to come off to expose......eeeek plastic! I paid $350 for them so I feel a little disappointed by the quality of the construction I now wear them at work rather than evenings out, theatre events etc. Undeterred I have my next pair of fluevogs on my wish list ( I have 4 pairs) and continue to love fluevog styling. To JF's credit I have never had a problem with my other Fluevog beauties.

  • Green is gorgeous!

It took a couple of tries to get these right. The first pair I was shipped had cracked textured leather on one shoe. I returned / replaced them and the second pair is fine. The shoes are slightly different colors (and I mean slightly) but not enough to bother me - this is a chance you take with beautiful handmade shoes. They fit me perfectly in my usual Vog size and are super comfortable right out of the box. I'd definitely consider getting these in other colors.

  • I loved the look of these online but have never found a pointy-toed shoe that didn't seriously sardine my toes (wide enough feet that non-"wide" shoes usually don't work) so I assumed it'd be no dice. Got to try them on in SF and am delighted to say I was totally wrong! I went up a half size to an 11 and they're perfect, comfortable, and not too long. The leather is thick but soft, really dreamy to break in. After having worn them a few times I think I might not have even needed to size up. May pop a ball-of-foot cushion in to take up a little space when it gets to be tights weather (I've been wearing them sockless so far.) Love!

  • The Perfect Shoe

Slightly over an inch tall, these are so comfortable to wear for an entire day. I bought a half size larger than my regular Fluevog size - but really, both my regular size and half-up fits me. There's no need to think twice about buying these.

  • This is my 5th pair of Pilgrims, so clearly it was a given that I would buy the spectacular green beauties--they really must be seen in person to appreciate the nuances of color & pattern in the 2 leathers, I loved the rub-off of the other colors but these textured leathers are beyond fabulous. I have Pilgrims in 7.5 and 8 (my usual Fluevog sizes) and went with 8 as I tend towards that more often.

  • Just plain HOT!!

Somehow is my Fluevog addiction..... yes I fell fast and hard.... I missed trying any Pilgrims!! But my world is not complete!! My new Pilgrims in the green snakeskin are just plain HOT!! You have to applaud any shoe that gets people to stop this 61 year old woman and tell her how HOT her shoes are!! Yes.... HOT is the universal description! The fit like a glove and are quite comfortable while the leathers snuggle around my foot!! These are definite ALL SEASON winners for me!!!

  • Essential in any Wardrobe!

I have been drooling over these shoes for months, and finally took the plunge and went into a store to try them on. I put my feet in these and could not believe how amazingly conformable they were! Walked around the store and did not want to take them off. Comfort aside, these are the most unique and gorgeous shoe that every girl should own. Skinny jeans, skirts, tights, dresses, these look incredible with everything. If you are thinking of the pilgrim, stop thinking and get them! you will love them!

I've had these for ages, and thought I better leave a review as there are so few! Yes, I stalk the website and admire shoes that I already own!!! Get these, you won't regret it! Comfortable right from the get go and look great! I can wear them out or to work. Love 'em. Very versatile and great heel height :)

  • My First Fluevogs!

Shopping. Wicker Park. Eclectic Shoe Store. Twice I walked past the door welcoming me in only to window browse at the most amazing shoe designs I'd ever seen in person. I knew these treasures had to be out of my reach. Third time-- I could not resist at least going in, the result of which was of course trying several pairs on (my delightful sales associate called it a shoe party!) and ultimately the purchase of these funky Pilgrims. So comfortable right out of the box, so sharp whether you're wearing casual or somewhat dressy clothes.. and so Mine. My first pair of Fluevogs (I've now bought more since). They run true to size but a word of warning that the sales associate passed on to me, the heel is not wood although it may look that way-- that is a wood-grain leather wrap. She said don't drive in these shoes but if you do scuff up the heels, Fluevog has replacement parts. I'm kinda surprised there aren't more reviews about these shoes but looking at the sizes left, I guess people are so thrilled that they haven't thought twice about looking back (to review), they are on about their business in their Truth Pilgrims.

  • Ask and receive...

I recently wrote to John Fluevog asking when the Truth Pilgrim would be available again...I got a rely that John would be notified that I had asked. Well, only a few weeks later, I was cruising the site and GUESS WHAT? There they were! I had only bought two pair of Fluevogs and hoped for the best, and that is exactly what I received. Out of the box, they are the most comfortable shoes I've worn and they are over-the-top remarkable and cute! I'm sure the remarks will abound when I wear them out!

  • Most comfortable cogs ever!!!

Bought these shoes online and wear them all the time cause they are sooooo comfortable!!! I have lots of fluevog shoes and these are my new favourites. I call them my witchy shoes cause they have that look (to me anyway) which is what drew them to me in the first place. Not only funky but super comfortable too - double threat!!

I eyed these off for quite a while. Being in Australia I don't get to try on before I buy but I'd been drooling over them for ages so I ended up ordering. I LOVE them, so comfortable. I wear them with trousers or dress/skirt to work in an office. As well as outside of work cos they are that comfortable and look awesome :)

  • first pair

This is my first pair of Fluevogs, and I can already tell I'll be plotting to acquire more! Extremely comfortable right out of the box, exactly what I was looking for. I really hope these get reissued in red (I have black)- I'd snap up a pair of those in a heartbeat! Excellent service and customer care from the ladies at the Portland store too. Thanks!

  • Love these shoes

I bought these in black and love the way they fit and feel. They are adorable with pants or dresses. If I'd realized how wonderful they'd be, I'd have bought them in more colors. I hope there will be more shoes in the "Truth" family, they are just perfect.

  • lilac pilgrims

Just having broken my leg in two places, and feeling crappy, I decided to treat myself to the coveted lilac pilgrims. For the first 5 weeks I could only wear one shoe, and let me tell you that foot looked good. These are so comfy, and as Forest Gump said, I can walk for miles and miles in shoes like that. I love them still and own them two years. I always buy from the store as I find online too much of a gamble without a try on. Thanks Fluevog for the best shoes in the world. I have 8 pairs and going shopping this week.

  • Lucky number...15?

Having decided the only cure for having 13 pairs of Fluevogs was to buy another as soon as possible - (a course of action decided upon after consulting one Mr. John Fluevog himself - yay!) - I took myself to the Distillery with the intention of picking up the Arabellas. And these sneaky little beggars came along too. Technically, they're on layaway, but I kept putting them back on my feet between tries of every other shoe I made poor (lovely good-natured) VogBabe Tara haul out of the back, so they're practically broken in already. Can't wait until the fall to put on these surprisingly cute and quirky, MEGA comfy shoes and push my wardrobe in new directions, just like with all the other 13, er, 14 pairs. And I will definitely coat the heels with some extra wax before taking them to town...thanks for the tip, fellow Voggers.

  • Luv them but have quality issues

I love these shoes. I have them in red. They make me feel good when i wear them, but I dislike that there is plastic in the heel. I have no idea how it happened but on my first wear I got a hole in the heel covering and now plastic is showing. Why aren't the heels made better on these shoes? I read other reviews from folks who said they had trouble with the heels wearing out. The design and comfort are great but the prices of these shoes warrant fabulous construction and materials. We shouldn't be reading about heels wearing out quickly or soles falling off.

  • New favorite shoes!

I've been coveting these in lilac for quite a while and was super excited to see them go on sale. The only sizes left were 6 and 10.5 - I usually wear a 10 in vogs, but decided to take my chances with the 10.5. I'm glad I did - they fit perfectly! They are so incredibly comfortable too, I know I'll have no problem wearing them all day at work. I just love the way these look with jeans, the color and distressed finish is awesome. I got so many compliments when I wore them out last night! These babies will be getting lots of wear.

  • I'm soooo in love!!!

WOW! I love these shoes!!! I got these while the gettin' was good and I am so glad I made the investment! I have wanted a pair of Fluevogs forever and not only do I have a pair now,but I was able to get this particular pair. I usually wear a 9 medium width but got the 9.5 and glad I did, they fit perfectly and are comfortable. My advice? Get them NOW!

  • Just Plain Fabulous!!!

I bought these in brown (color is on the chocolate side) and they are just plain fabulous. I wear a 5 in the Operettas and a 6 in all my other fluevog styles. I got these in a 6 and they are perfect so I would say they are quite true to size. I have an average to slightly wide little foot and the pointy toe doesn't squeeze them at all. They do fit a bit looser with hose or thin tights, but I just use a thin comfort insoles such as Dr. Scholls and they fit great. I also walked downtown a lot, usually a mile and I don't have any problems in these shoes. @>-

  • seriously funky

Turning 50 and I feel as though I've "arrived". After years of not being able to find interesting shoes in my size,I've stumbled into Fluevog Land and have accumulated a few beauties in the past three months. I am size 11 (narrow foot) in every nonVog and have never worn a size 12 until I met Fluevogs. This shoe fits small and I'm counting on the shoes stretching somewhat with time but I think they'll be fine. These lilac pilgrims have great character. Cool and funky.

  • so comfortable

Great shoes; my third pair of Fluevogs. I get a pair whenever I go to NYC. The red colour is a wonderful deep rich shade. I was worried about the pointy toes, but they look great with dresses, and of course so comfortable.

  • This is my third pair of these glorious, funky, insanely comfortable shoes--every time I'd wear the brown or lilac ones I'd think, "I'd better get them in red or I'll be sorry", finally ordered what was the very last pair of 7.5s only to be told they were indeed sold out so decided to go up to an 8 and frankly, I can't tell the difference, they fit perfectly. And the color! The red is the most intoxicating true cherry red I've ever seen, deep and full of shaded nuance. Many thanks to Petrea for her incredible customer service with these beauties.

  • Gorgeous shoe. Usually shy away from pointy toes but were so cool had to try them on and they feel amazing. Bought 1/2 size larger than in other makes, super comfy without any breaking in at all. Now want the Petra boot, which I expect to fit the same way. Wish there were some reviews of it.

  • Lovely but Will Never Fit Me

Just received these and wanted them to fit! Even was wearing a dress that looked great with the lilac. Alas, the shoe in an 8 feels a full size small. Going up a full size would give me a pointy toe out to the stars.

  • #3 and counting

Bought these last week at the Calgary store . . . and they are FABULOUS! I'm finding every excuse I can to wear these as much as possible! I bought the red in a 10.5 (I'm usually a 10 in non-Vogs) and they fit like a dream. The red is rich enough to add a great pop of colour, but deep enough to almost act as a neutral . . . it will go with everything!

I was concerned about the comments I'd read about the wrapped heel chipping, so I just won't drive in them (thanks to some great advice from Idaho!).

I would love these in a brown as well . . . on my wish list for sure!

  • My First Pair......

These were my first pair of Fluevogs as well and I have to say I am purely and utterly addicted. I am saving for the Victorian inspired burgundy boots. I aim for people to think of me and say "Isn't she the Realtor with the completely amazing shoes?"

  • I love them

This was my first pair of fluevogs. I have wanted a pair for at least 20 years. I was so excited it was like a kid getting a new bike. I am very careful with them and constantly telling people don't step on the shoes. The first night I spent the whole night saying look at my shoes. You would think I was kid again. I can't wait to get another pair. It is definitively an obsession to ad to my list. ?:-)

  • thank you sample sale!

I got these in a lovely charcoal grey at the Granville store when I was in town during the last sample sale. They're funky and comfortable (my friends call them my witch shoes), and with the right coloured tights make your legs look as if they go on forever!

My only complaint is that the "wooden" heels chip very easily (as in after less than a handful of wears), revealing white plastic underneath. Thankfully Preet from the Granville store was able to mail over some replacement heels to NB. Now that's customer service!

  • #55 and Counting

I don't know why I didn't a pair of these sooner, but I am just thrilled with my brown Pilgrims; color choice was a dilemma, have several red pairs, more than enough black and 2 pairs of gray/purple, so this lovely deep chestnut brown fills a void quite nicely. Size comments were all over the place but as a true 7.5 I find these fit my average-width feet perfectly in a 7.5.

  • The beginning of my Fluevog Addiction

This was my first pair of Fluevogs and have earned their keep many times over!

I get so many compliments and the colour RED is just camp as a Christmas Tree ,->

They are comfortable but I can only wear them for a few hours because having small super wide feet means I had to go 1 1/2 sizes larger than usual and the cut outs start digging into my feet after a while |-)

  • Lilac loveliness...

    I bought these as a pick-me-up present after a day of craziness last week. And pick me up, they did. The lilac truly does work as an amazing neutral. And I couldn't be happier with the comfort of these shoes. The first time I wore them, I ended up walking several miles in them with no issues at all. Just for reference, I found them to be true to size -- even with the pointed toe, I ended up with my usual size 8.5. These are my third pair of Fluevogs, and I love love love them. :-{

I love, love, love these shoes; they are by far my favorite pair. Amazingly comfortable and they look great, too - I get a lot of compliments on them.

Unfortunately, I've had them a little over a year and they have had a lot of problems - the heel quickly scraped up, and then the sole peeled off. I took them into the store on Haight and they had the heel fixed, and the sole re-glued. The sole peeled off again almost immediately, so I took it to a different, well-reviewed local shoe repair place. The sole came off again within weeks, and I noticed the bottom of the sole has a huge crack under the sole. Not quite the quality I expect from Fluevog. All of my other pairs have lasted extremely well.

Received these in black as a lovely gift from a shoe savvy giver. Boy, are they terrific. The witchy style and the total comfort keeps me cheerful all day long.

  • great

these make a lot of noise as you walk and the purple color fades but i was informed of this by John Fluevog's wife (who was with him in the store!) and has a pair herself. I love the style of these shoes and wear them any time i get fancy

  • Love the shoes... heels not so much

So many Fluevogs are a little too high for me to wear as an every day shoe, so the Pilgrims are a brilliant mix of awesome and practical. I too found the leather wrapped heels showed damage very quickly, even from resting them on the floor mat of the car while driving. I don't dare walk across gravel in these babies. When the heels kick the bucket, I think I will be finding myself a local crafter to make some solid wood replacements. In the meantime, I waxed my heels to give them a bit more protection from the elements and from snags when they brush up against something. Seems to be working as they got more damaged during the one or two wears before waxing them than in all the wearings since. Be warned though, it will make the leather significantly darker so if you like the colour you've got, leave well alone. Heel problems aside, I still lust after the brown ones and someday hope to make them my own.

  • Burgundy not Red

The very first thing I said when I opened the box was "That is not very red". Looking on the website you get the idea they are going to be a bright loud red. They are in fact quite dark and more akin to the color of the burgundy suede Munsters. That is not to say that I do not like them. I still love them; they were just not quite what I was expecting.

I have wide feet and was skeptical that these would fit width ways even after ordering a half size up. I was surprised when I put them on that they had alot of give. They are a bit snug on my right foot, but that will go away once they break in. Beautiful shoes <3

One of my favorite pair of Vogs! These look fantastic with pants or a skirt for work - and they look incredible with a pair of jeans on the weekend. Love the pointy toe! :-D

My gosh, where do I begin. These kick hiney. SUPER comfortable and stylin. I'm a true 8, and this 8 is great, I do state. Speaking of fit...because I like to fit in (I'm lying): these are my 5th pair. Go, JF! Go!

  • LOVE these shoes

I bought the grey pair of these last summer and I wear them more than all my other Fluevogs combined. They are so incredibly comfortable, I don't think there is high enough praise for these lovelies.

Now that a red pair has been issued I think I'm going to have to acquire them as well, can't get enough of the Truth: Pilgrims. :-B

  • Love 'em

These are my 9th pair of Vogs and the ones that I wear the most. I'm on my feet all day (hairstylist) and never have sore/tired feet at end of day when wearing these. Went looking for brown flats and instead came home with Pilgrims in black... now that they come in brown I'll have to get them as well.

Fit well - I normally wear a 6 or 6.5 and got these in a 6.5. I did blister a bit on the sides the first couple of wears but then they stretched out a bit and haven't had any more issues.

  • Buying Online..

If you've only seen Fluvogs online (forum member recommendation) it is essential you develop a relationship with one of the stores and a staffer. Pete in Boston? Fantastic. Nailed the fit of these shoes perfectly.. my first Vog purchase the shoes went back and forth 3x before I gave up.

As for these shoes specifically? To get your hands on them you will have to tear them off my cold dead feet. They are shockingly comfortable.. full support if you're on your feet all day. And as Pete said "just a bit Witchy." He described the sole as non-skid, and he was right. I feel solid and stable in these shoes, look like a million bucks, and can say with authority to Mr. Gunn.. fashion does not have to be uncomfortable. Mr. Gunn is obviously walking around in the wrong shoes.

  • Love These!

These arrived today (my fourth pair of Fluevogs), I put them on, didn't even need to be broken in! Ordered half a size larger than my normal 8 1/2 due to the pointed toe, the size 9 was a perfect fit! Wore them for about eight hours straight without any issue. I love the worn in look of the brown leather, they looked great with jeans and less casual work attire. Might have to get these in a second color. :-D Thank you to the Boston store for once again sending me an amazing pair of shoes!

  • A friend recommended your shoes for their durability and I blindly listened and purchased a pair of the pilgrims.I want to thank you for teaching me a valuable lesson, the hard way. The heel lasted 4 months. Next time may I recommend a true wood heel on a Victorian boot shoe.

I should have paid more attention but I won’t make the mistake twice (with your company). There it is, plain as day, leather wrapped (plastic) heel. Thankfully, Victorians didn't use plastic for their shoes.

Bummer you feel this way. please contact a Fluevog store and they can send you a heel replacement quite easily. Wooden heels split and chip rather quickly, especially in wet and dramatic climates.

  • wicked shoes

With jeans, they're like cowboy boots. With skirts they're pilgrim shoes. They're magick!

I call these my Wicked shoes because I bought them in San Francisco on a trip to see Wicked. In fact, I walked about a mile in them on my way to the show, and another mile on the way back.

They are comfortable and beautiful. I like the way the heels sound on the floor. And I have noticed that the more I wear them, the more I love these shoes. They get softer and the creases become more purple.

If you are thinking about buying these shoes, you should. I saved up for these for my birthday, and they are worth every penny.

  • Buying pair two!

I bought the lilac pilgrims and absolutely adore them. Comfy, sleek, totally unusual - I get tons of compliments! I usually wear a 9.5 or 10 - got these in a 10 due to the pointy toe. I've just ordered them in black and can't wait!

  • Beautiful Shoe

I saw these at the Fluevog store in Chicago and saved up for them, squealing with glee when I purchased them a few months later at the Newbury Street store in Boston. I got the mauve/purple color with is just smashing; a really lovely neutral and not at all like the pinky color depicted on the web site.

The shoes did require some breaking in. I wore them with moleskin to protect myself from blisters a few times and now they're totally comfortable and perfect. It's just getting chilly now and I'm looking forward to wearing these with tights.

My third pair of 'Vogs. I love his work so much.

  • Funky & fun, but...

I bought these in the lovely lilac color. They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned, straight out of the box. The "distressed" color is really unique and so pretty on this funky retro style. The only issue I have is the leather covering the wood-look heel. I drove my car for 15 minutes and in that short time of resting my heel on the car floor mat the back of the heel was all scuffed and the color rubbed off. The heels are very cheaply done IMO and a big disappointment as Fluevogs are usually top quality shoes.

  • Fabulous shoes with one small warning

I love, love, love these shoes. Wanted them in the purple but got the black to be practical. Only negative is the heel - if you scrape it against something the covering can come off and you'll see the white heel material beneath and try getting that fixed - not easy. Still love the shoes but am sad that the material covering the heel isn't sturdier.

  • Timeless

In 1989, when I was just a wee little thing still figuring out my style, I found a pair of shoes in a discount store (ahem) that looked at lot like these. (At the time I'd never even heard of Fluevog.) They were tough, they were rustic, they were dangerous, and yet they are were also somehow feminine and classic and period-style, all at the same time, and they seemed just about perfect for my style. I bought those discount shoes, and wore them until they literally fell to pieces.

And now it's a couple of decades later and I don't have to shop at discount shoe stores anymore. So when these appeared, there was no question that I would have to have them, to reflect the style I found all those years ago in a pair of, shall we say, tribute shoes. And I love them even more than I loved that discount pair. They're almost ridiculously comfortable, and I wear them with everything from jeans to pirate outfits to Victorian skirts--they match it all. And I'm really glad I found my way to them.

  • OMG!!

When I first saw these shoes I KNEW I had to have them. Finally made my way to the Granville store and purchased them in black. They fit like they were custom made for me. I absolutely LOVE these shoes. Because I bought them in the summer, I've been patiently waiting for a 'pant' day to wear them to work. Well, I'm wearing them today, and nothing can go wrong. Now I see they are available in brown, guess I'll have to save up for those.

  • The shoe with everything!

I own this shoe in the lavender shade. I love the colour and wasn't sure when I bought it, but it goes with everything! Smashing with brown or black as an accent to a monotone outfit. I own many Fluvog shoes and boots, but this is by far one of the most comfortable pair of those or any other brand I own. The retro style and hot fashion colour make it a stand-by that I go to over and over again. I'd had many compliments on them, all across Canada this summer and would love to add the new brown colour to my collection. @>-

  • I wanted these shoes the second they appeared on the website. Once my Fluevog Fund (yes, I have one) had been replenished after my last purchase, I went to the Granville store and there they were, pretty as ever. I was relieved to see that the lilac pair were in fact purple, not pinkish like the picture on the website. The black pair were nice, but the lilac pair are really special. As with most Fluevogs, they fit a half size small. They looked narrow, but when I tried them on they fit perfectly on my B-width feet. The pointy toe is surprisingly comfortable and my toes are still happy after a full day of wear. Love them!

  • pelgrim problem

I bought some black pelgrim shoes in Montreal in May and i got a problem with the heels 3 hours after wearing them the first time! I brought them back to the shore two times to get it fix, to my suprise a employe gave me some sh... because i was complaining after the second repair, who still wasn't done correctly There's still a problem with the shoes but i left the store, i don't want to be scream at when i'm buying some thinks at a store, and i don't care how much i'm paying. But i would like to mention, it's gonna be my 4th pairs in less than a year. I don't think there's that much good custumers in Montreal for 300.00$ shoes. PLease contact me, i don't no what to do anymore, the heels of the shoes look terrible. Drawn in desperation in Montreal.

  • Love, love, love these shoes! These shoes are unique in every way, from the buckle to the weathered look of the leather, and the wooden heel. The super pointy toes adds to the allure. I love to pair these with wide leg jeans. It doesn't take long to break them in (a few days), and they're surprisingly roomy for such pointy shoes.

  • Total room-looker

You know the scenario... you walk into a room and everyone looks - not at you but at your shoes. These shoes are a room looker. True to size- I am a 7.5 and the 7.5 fits perfect. Again, hats off to Wesley at the Gastown store for gently nudging the Pilgrims my way... oh and that screaming you hear... my friends are still gasping. Happy 40th indeed!!

  • I fell in love with these at first site. Surprisingly, I went for a lilac ones, I guess because I already have so many pairs of black shoes and I just adored the way that the "wear" shows against the lighter leather.

They have a soft, super-flexible sole that makes them feel like slippers. So they're comfortable as well as beautiful.

I did find that I was a little more comfortable going a half size up from my normal size 6, although I wouldn't say that it was strictly necessary.

I went into the Toronto store today only planning on buying one pair of Vogs. I ended up leaving with two. I had to try on these shoes & once I did I didn't want to take them off. They are so comfortable. Plus they complement my sense of style. Hell... I even bought them in lilac.(If you knew me you'd be shocked) Once again I experienced excellent customer service. These are my 4 pair of vogs. I can now admit it...... I AM A VOGAHOLIC!!!!!!!! :-D

  • Slender ankles deserve these shoes

I bought these in black at the 40th Anniversary sale, from the Gastown store.

I put 'em on and POOF! Ordinary Citizen became Amazing Pirate.

I was concerned that the shoes might not be friends with my favorite peddle pushers and short pants, but I was wrong; they look great. NOTES of interest: ~~~If you have slender ankles, these shoes are truly smokin' ~~~ Got a wee tiny blister on my, er, pointer toe (the one beside the big one), but am assuming this is just a wearing in issue ~~~ The white wax that FV applies to these create a fabulous "I've had these since I was pirate" kind of finish, wearing through gradually to show darker areas. ~~~ The wood heels ensure that you knock like you're walkin' the plank when you walk, so don't get 'em if you like to sneak up on folk.

My husband bought these for my birthday and I couldn't love them more. They are comfy to wear even with the pointy toe. The more you wear them, the more the colour takes on a unique wear pattern.
