Mastering skills is not easy, especially when one is a young upstart shoe salesman. But a true prodigy can emerge with a little coaching and lots of practice, and a young lad can turn into a unique and celebrated shoe designer. Inspired by a shoe drawing John did in his early 20s recently found in his mother's attic, John has created a simple and versatile slingback with a gorgeous silhouette. Handcrafted in Peru, The Prodigy features leather soles and a leather wrapped 3.25" heel, with an x-shaped leather interlace for accentuation on two youthful leathers: a cool, grey glossy patent leather, and a floral pattern printed on dry leather giving the slingback a time-faded feel harking back to the Fox & Fluevog days. Practice the Daily Miracle of Giving.

Getting to know each other...

Cat - Vancouver
The floral Prodigies are my 5th pair of 'Vogs, and I know I will grow to love them as much as all the others (shhhhh, don't tell them). I typically wear a size 9 due to my wide, wide flipper feet, so I that's the size I bought. The toe box is definitely on the narrow side and quite rigid, but I think it will soften up with more wear, like all my other 'Vogs have done. My heel slipped out of the slingback at first, but the good folks at the Gastown store kindly sent them out to be tightened up. Beyond the toe pinching, the slight platform makes these beauties wonderfully comfortable and supportive, and the gorgeous print spreads cheer wherever I go. :-)

Love, love, love

These new beauties were added to my growing (gulp) fluevog collection.... They fit beautifully and are amazingly comfortable. I am typically a size 7, but got them in a 7.5 due to the narrow toe box and my square feet. They are glorious! Thank you John!

I will add my voice to those who found these narrow. In my case, that's not a good thing. Anyone know how I can get these to stretch width-wise? Already tried multiple socks, the ziploc freezer trick, and lots of wear. `:O
