I love love love this boot! There's little to no break-in necessary, but keep in mind that almost everyone (men and women) have been able to go down a half size.

Description
The Blake is a tough, no-funny-business, casual boot that’ll make the wearer look tougher than nails (even if inside you're a demure little kitten). The Blake is built with sturdy leathers to make for a rugged style boot and Goodyear welted so that, no matter how well you establish the “worn-look”, (hint: these’ll get better with age) they’ll last through the beating. Like any of The Living Family, walk them long and hard and you’ll be rewarded with a leather finish that's totally your own. Living to change the world.
Make these natural/tattoo Blakes your own with help from our colo(u)rful range of Leather Pens!

Nothing beats them!
I wish Fluevog had more women sizes in different colours ,and shoes.
Can’t go wrong with them!
They lasted 1 afternoon :(
Looks good - quality is lacking
Even worse, John Fluevog couldn't care less.
Great Boot - Issue with laces
I did notice that after 5 days of wear, one of the laces is already frayed near the hook. I'm not an over tightened lace kind of guy so it's kind of annoying for a $300+ pair of boots. Maybe something needs to be changed with the laces.
Otherwise, I highly recommend these boots.
Unbelievable classic boot
My only concern is that it runs large. They only come in unisex sizing. I find the 6 is too long for me. Please, please consider making a size 5 women's blake!
You won't be disappointed by there!
All Style and Marketing - Low Quality. AVOID
They look like tough military boots, but they're really just junk. A rip off at $50 - but these cost me $400+. Save your money and avoid!
Great looking, badly constructed
The problems with the construction have shown from the very beginning: the heel peeled exactly like another reviewer mentioned, and the seams split. The store replaced one pair, and paid for the repair of the replacement pair when exactly the same problems appeared again.
Now, after about 20 months of moderate use, the sole of one boot developed bumps and dents that made it extremely uncomfortable to wear, kind of skewing the foot. Neither the store nor the cobbler knew what to do with the issue, and the boots are now unusable.
If you want great looking boots go for them. If you want durable boots, go for something else.
not so top quality
Rugged and Stylish Boots
I would like in brown for women!
Hands down, the best boots I've ever owned
Awesomely Comfortable Boots
they run true to size, though i sized up to an 8 to accommodate layered and thick socks for winter as these were intended to be my primary footwear for the upcoming maritime winter and it was definitely the right choice! you will not regret buying these bad boys. they're great for walking in and required zero breaking in and even with a few scuffs on the toe cap still look sexy as hell.
Perfect combat boots
I was determined to buy the Olivers instead, because of the toecap (plus being on sale never hurts), but then Brian at the Queen St store said he owns both and reaches for his Blakes every time, and basically hasn't taken them off since he bought them, and I feel like Brian is the shoe whisperer and knows everything that can be known by man of Vogs?
Right. So, head to head to comparison, it feels like they've made some improvements since the Olivers. The Blakes feels even more insanely comfortable, and like the build is more stable (after wearing the Blakes, the Olivers felt like the heel was going to peel away from the shoe any minute now). They also don't have the spring/bend at the ball of the foot like the Olivers do, which I'm sure some people love, but didn't feel quite as comfortable to me.
Bonus points: first day out I was waiting at a streetcar stop with a Canadian Infantier in full camo fatigues and combat boots, and all I can say is it looks like the Canadian military could use some pointers from Fluevog. Just sayin'
