Description

The Hedwig might look like a tough cookie at first glance, but in reality it’s really quite adaptable and accommodating. A tall, Goodyear welted lace-up boot built from smooth leathers in Mexico, they are partially lined so that they can be worn folded or fully laced, depending on how you’re feeling that day. Both soles and heel are leather with rubber injections. Living to change the world.

Super Sexy Lace Ups!!!

Angi - Vancouver, BC
I just bought the Hedwig boots and I totally loved them the moment I put them on in the store. It does take a little time to lace them up but well worth the effort. They are very unique, very soft, comfortable, more classy without a side zipper in my opinion. A lot of lace up higher boots are very clunky, heavy and look far too wild for me but these are perfect. They look great with jeans tucked in, with leggings or a skirt.
Great purchase for my ever growing collection of Fluevogs!!!!!!!!!

Search is Over

Ariana - PDX
I have been looking for a mid-calf lace up combat style with no zipper for about three years. Had to be leather. I don't want to have to look for these ever again. Had to be not Zachary/Doc Martens clunky. To be fair, I have the tall Zachary, and I love it, but it is definitely a different vibe than the Hedwig. Had to be slightly sexy, but not overpowering in a skirt. I want to wear them to work, and being an LMT, they had to be comfortable for all day on my feet. Had to be suitable for weekend hikes in the often-wet Columbia Gorge. When I saw these, I knew that if they were comfortable, my search was over. It is, and they are. I do not mind the extra time it takes to get them on and off. Zippers somehow always rub on my ankles no matter what I do, so a few minutes twice a day vs pain all day is no contest. And it does take time. These are eyelet only. There are no side-hooks at the top for fast lacing. The one weird thing about these, aside from the fact that they don't come in half sizes is the sole. It is leather, with cutouts, through which, a rubber lug sole pokes through. Looks really cool. But on the 2nd day wearing them, they got wet, and I could tell that many more days of that was going to destroy the sole. They had already begun to warp. And they were not water resistant. No biggie, they weren't sold as waterproof. So I waited a few days to let the sole dry, and took them in to my cobbler. I had him smooth the sole down and apply a vibram sole, and apply a waterproofing solution to them. It made me sad that after paying $375ish for a pair of boots, I had to pay $25.00 two days later to repair them. But the cobbler said that they were very solid, well made boots, and that one modification should give me a lifetime of good wear out of them. As long as I take good care of them and condition the leather and replace the soles as they wear down, which would need to happen with any good pair of leather shoes. I am really happy with these, and would do it all again with a burgundy pair, if John would, in the future, make such a boot. I hope these make it past first year production, with a better sole, in more colors. They are very versatile, comfortable, and they do get compliments!
