Taking cues from classic English double-wingtips, The Nathaniel features smooth contrast leathers, providing unparalleled comfort and contemporary style altogether in a dapper package. A retro style reborn, John put a modern twist on this Angel by creating a rubber unit Angel Sole with a leather rand and inlay at the heel. Still tough and heavenly, The Guardian Angel Nathaniel recites the now famous JF message engraved on the sole: Resists alkali, water, acid, fatigue and Satan.

Great everyday work shoes
I bought a pair of black/brown Nathaniels that are no longer available, and I'm dying to get a pair of the Army Green ones when I can afford to. I bought the men's size 8, and I usually wear a women's size 10. In future I might consider getting an 8 and a half. They were pretty snug when I got them, but as I wore them they have loosened up a bit and fit quite well now.
I wear these to my office job often, and they are perfect with slacks. I've even worn them a few times with dresses and slouchy socks. A very versatile shoe.

Love, love, love these
I typically buy Vogs in women's sizes, so I was concerned that these might not fit but the green ones were way too good to pass up. Matt from the Boston store contacted me, as requested, to discuss sizing, and he said that the 7s were likely to be a little big for me, given that I wear a women's 7.5 wide, or an 8 (sometimes a 9 in pointy shoes) (Women's sizes are typically 2 higher than the equivalent men's). However, I still wanted to try so he packaged them up with insoles and sent them to me. They arrived today, and they're great! They are, indeed, a little long, but the insoles take care of the problem and they're otherwise a good fit. They look great with my jeans and I fully intend to wear them with everything I can manage from here on out. It is 2020, so I don't get to be seen in public much; it's time to step up my game, even for the grocery store.

Where has the quality gone?
These shoes finally ended my 25 years of loyalty to Fluevog. I should have learned my lesson with the last order I returned, but I’m loyal to a fault. The fit of these shoes points to something amiss in manufacturing and quality control, and the lack of accommodation from the store tells me it’s time to move on. I’m stuck with useless shoes and out over $300 after the failed return shipping. Bye bye.

My wife and I were in Vancouver last week and happened to walk by the Fluevog store. Once inside we immediately noticed these shoes. They fit like a glove and bare the name of our son Nathaniel....nice bonus...
I wore them next day to a wedding and my feet couldn't have been more happier...and got lots of looks...also the lady serving us was wonderful, very pleasant and fun....

I picked these up at the Gastown sample sale, both in the tri-tone brown and in black. The fit was immediately perfect for me, which means they fit wider than your average Vog. Guardian Angels have a trimmed-down Angel sole, so they look a lot sleeker than previous Angel designs. They're lighter too.
Bonus feature: The tongue is attached with elastic, so you can comfortably wear these without laces, or simply without typing the laces, as I am wont to do.
