If you’ve ever wandered through the lobby of the International Names Association of Difficult Spelling, you’ve almost certainly seen two photos hanging side-by-side: comedian Atsuko Okatsuka and our very own John Fluevog. And when two legends of tricky phonetics and boundless style collide, standard footwear simply isn't an option.
Meet The Atsuko Anthem, a bold, eye-catching platform created in vibrant collaboration with Atsuko herself.
A while back, Atsuko stepped into our Vancouver studio alongside Creative Director Arabella Barros and the rest of the Fluevog design crew. The room ignited with puckish humo(u)r and unbridled ingenuity. Finding instant kinship in high-voltage hues and sculptural shapes, our team set out to channel Atsuko's style-through-the-roof energy directly into a showstopping shoe.
As Atsuko delightfully puts it:
"Everyone, meet... the ANTHEM. Be bold, take up your space girl! It’s been a dream working with my fellow beautiful weirdos at the Fluevog team to come up with this gorgeous funky comfy platform. Now go stomp around in it! See you out there x”
Crafted on our elevated Angelica family sole with a Delight-inspired upper, The Atsuko Anthem is built for superstar agility and rock-solid stability. Available in two celebratory colo(u)rways, it’s designed for uproarious international performances and low-key grocery store runs alike.
