Fluevog Calgary‘s latest Underground Gallery exhibition features artwork from local artist Taylor Odynski created as both a response to AI generated art and an homage to those who shaped her career and style.
Tay Odynski, professionally known as Taytayski, has established a distinctive presence in the art world both online and in Alberta since launching her career in Calgary eight years ago. Her signature style is characterized by letting the paint dictate the outcome of her work and utilizing every drip, splatter, brushstroke, and medium.
About “Art of Influence”
“Inspiration and influence are complex concepts in the art world. With the rise of technology and the advent of artificial intelligence (AI) generating art, the debate around the authenticity and originality of AI art has become a prominent topic in the industry. While traditional artists draw inspiration from other artists, movements, and cultural contexts to create their own unique style, AI art operates within the parameters set by its creators, drawing inspiration from existing art.
Join us in exploring the newest evolution of Tay’s style as she balances paying homage to her influences while creating something that is uniquely her own. A traditional artist’s response to the intimidation that’s come with the introduction of art created by machines. Observe how her journey compares to that of AI art and decide for yourself the difference between intentionality and creativity in the creation process.”
Taytayski’s “Art of Influence” will be exhibiting at The Underground Gallery from February 7th to April 30th, 2023. A special midway show will take place on Saturday, March 4th with artist in attendance from 5-7pm.
