The PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival was recently held in Australia where Fluevog designs graced the Emerging Mob in Fashion x Fujitsu runway.
Mob in Fashion is an avenue through which Australia’s First Nations creatives contribute to the Melbourne Fashion Festival on many levels and in various fields. Australia’s Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander Peoples participate as models on the runway as well as in roles behind the scenes as hair and make-up artists, stylists, photographers, journalists and, of course, designers.
The show celebrated exciting emerging First Nations fashion and featured nine selected designers under the guidance of Rhys Ripper, Co-Director of Mob in Fashion and Creative Director/Head Stylist. Rhys has always been a fan of Fluevog and was especially excited to work with Fluevog shoes for this very special show.
“I’ve been waiting for the right opportunity to work with Fluevog and when this show came along, I knew they would be the perfect fit for our designers,” Rhys said.
“Ever since the iconic Lady Miss Kier platforms, I have loved Fluevog’s creations. With so many vibrant and exciting styles our designers were showing, I knew Fluevog would complement their looks perfectly.”
Fluevog styles such as the Steven, Sparky, and Duesy worked especially well with the showing of Gali Swimwear, while the purple Munster Max Daisy was a showstopper when combined with an incredible Lychee Alkira design.
Overall, nearly twenty Fluevog designs were featured in the show, treating the dedicated fashion-lovers in attendance to one of the most talked about spectacles of the festival.
