Unique Souls in Unique Soles: Trasie and Dax

Over the years, we’ve had the pleasure of featuring inspiring and beautifully unique souls (and soles) in our printed bi-annual catalog, The Fluevog Post. Our community and team are what truly makes Fluevog special, which is why we use every opportunity we can to showcase their brilliance. In addition to our stunning Spring/Summer ’23 collection, we’re shining a little spotlight on the stars of this issue — Trasie Combes from Kitsilano and Daxon Derkacz from Victoria.

Trasie (pictured to the left above) has been with Fluevog for the last three years, but an on-again off-again Fluevogologist for more than twenty. Rivaled only by her love of Vogs, Trasie’s passion for “encouraging self-expression through shoes, colours and outfits” is what brings her joy in work. Trasie loves the outdoors and to create — even making one of the dresses she’s wearing in this issue — and is eagerly “counting the days until camping season comes around.” Bonus fun fact: Trasie’s brother, Chad, is our Fluevog Gastown store manager!

Dax (pictured above to the right), a Fluevoger for four years and a Fluevogologist for two, finds that being around “wonderful, whimsical footwear (and the wonderful, whimsical people who wear them)” helps spark his “creative drive”. Footwear, fashion, and fitness are Dax’s first loves, but he’s also an avid music and motorsports fan. When he’s not at the gym, Dax is usually out on his motorbike “enjoying the wonderful backroads Vancouver Island has to offer or at home working on music projects.”

To Trasie and Dax, everyone who has modelled for us in the past, and those who will grace future issues of The Fluevog Post — thank you!
