Starfleet

First, let me say that these boots are some of THE most comfortable boots that I have ever worn. I do have a wider calf, and I think that they would fit a little more comfortably at the top if the binding of the stretchy portion of the boot was slightly less constricting. They are definitely still wearable, though. I purchased my boots in late 2022, prior to the Cadet style being released, and I have only worn them a handful of times at events. At one of these events, while putting on my boots, the zipper split completely from one side. I've attempted to repair them myself only for them to split again when I put them on. I'm not sure if repairs are offered by Fluevog, but I don't live near a store to take them to. I've not been able to continue wearing my boots for the last several months or so and it makes me a little sad.

So i pulled the trigger on the gray full lenght and i am really glad i did. Had purchased the half boot version but this one is even more comfortable and they look even better in person. Its almost like the grey color look flourscent somehow. First time wrearing them and the first person i ran into at 730 am noticed and completed on them. 90 percent tempted to get another pair while they are around. If you are a Treckie or even a sci-fy fan i highly recommend gerring a pair

My home city of Winnipeg doesn't have a Fluevog store, so when I found out I was traveling to Ottawa for business this week I was excited. I'd finally have opportunity to shop in store! Dane helped me looking around, and I told him I was probably not going to be taking them home, but I needed to try on the Starfleets. He brought out the last pair in-store he had, which was 1 size up from what I usually wear. The fit was perfect. They were insanely comfortable. They were bought with hardly a second thought. Huge thanks to Dane for assisting this guy, and to John for all the fun and funky designs! Looking forward to see what's coming on the horizon!

Ordered these boots for a cosplay I’ve been planning for some time and had some initial issues with delivery. Angela at the New Orleans store provided incredible service and was remarkably helpful and kind. She went out of her way to help me with my order and I am beyond appreciative of her help. When my package arrived, the experience of opening it was truly special. The shoes themselves were stunning and I am looking forward to wearing them at a future event. They came exactly as depicted on the website and were even more impressive in person. The quality and craftsmanship is evident, and the style is unique and an absolute dream come true. The boots are quality, and look amazing with my costume - in fact they pull the entire look together. I can’t wait to show out at my future eventsz

Really, last year, my wife and I wandered into Fluevog store that we have never been before. She found a great pair of boots and I found these. At first, I thought they would not sell them to me becasue I thought they were only for the TV show. But then I put them on and I was sold. These boots called to me. After having them for about 10 months I can honestly say, whenever I look for a pair of boots or sharp looking shoes in my closet, these are the only ones I grab. And I probably own a dozen boots. Really holding up well, still look new after plenty of use, and just 100% crazy comfortable. Wearing them all night, you dont really want to take them off. And that is saying something. They just look great, and I even get scores of compliments on the boots. They are so darn comfortable, it doesnt seem right to get those compliments. But oh well...

I absolutely love my boots. I have been a Star Trek fan forever, and when I found out we could purchase these amazing boots, I was thrilled. I wore cowboy boots for a long time, so I have no issue with the pointy toes. I love them more than my cowboy boots. I can't wait for the cadet boots to come out!

I was first reluctant to buy a pair of Starfleet boots as the price was pretty high. The staff at my local shop assisted me in trying on a pair in the black. I normally wear a size eight so I asked for that and gave it a try. I found it to be tight and too small. I went for a size nine and they fit perfectly. They’re one of the most comfortable boots I’ve own. I ended up purchasing the light grey colour and then bought another pair in the black. I always get compliments on them when I wear them. Folks are surprised by the brand that offers these but the true Fluevog fans in the know recognize the quality of them. I own three pairs of this fabulous Starfleet. Two in the grey and one pair in the black. 🙂

Absolutely love these boots, comfortable and zero rubbing on my feet, worn them already for a day and I have to say they are more comfortable than any shoe/boot I've had before! The design is superb, being a Star Trek fan but they are also stylish enough to wear with just about any outfit. Customer service was great and recommended me going a size up for comfort and due to my wider feet size. Cannot say how grateful and pleased I am with both the service and the boot. Live long and prosper.

So I read all of the reviews and I was nervous to order a larger-than-normal size. But I emailed about it too and they came back with a size 10 recommendation for my 8.5/sometimes 9 foot. The calf fits me fine. I can see where some people that know their calves run large would be concerned. I measured mine and they are exactly 15in. I have room and the stretchable material actually stretches just enough to fit as intended. These are supposed to be right against the skin. I have enough room to wear my leggings so I can cosplay the Skant with leggings. I walked around in these and nothing is rubbing. There is plenty of room around my toes. If you are on the fence, measure your calves and then email the company about sizing recommendations. It's an expensive shoe and you might as well feel comfortable ordering the right size. Staff is very friendly and addressed my concerns. I specifically said I needed to be able to wear these all day in a convention, comfortably. It is a BEAUTIFUL piece of Star Trek history and I'm glad I bought it. It feels like a treasure, and I will love these my entire life.

I am a 7.5 and bought an 8 per the recommendation of an agent. I have a high arch and "duck feet" so I was concerned about the comments stating the toe box is narrow. Additionally I have muscular calved, the widest part being 14.5" These are AMAZING. The size eight was perfect. The toe box isn't tight at all and I have no issue with the neoprene binding at the top of the back of the boot as others have. If you're under a 15" calf I don't think you'll have issues with these boots. I'm so happy I took the plunge on these.

So I wear a 8 1/2 in most Fluevog styles, I got a size 10 in these boots because my calves were made for walking, not fashion xD But despite the fact that these boots are a 2 1/2 sizes larger than what I would normally wear. I have had no problems with tripping over the toes, scuffing them up or feeling clumsy. On top of that, I have nerve damage in the underside of my feet, I am disabled with chronic pain from my feet up to my spine, and I work in retail. I can wear these boots for an entire week straight without them aggravating my chronic pain. I cannot say enough good things about the manifold style and cushioning. And the Starfleet boot always guarantees me at least six compliments every single time I wear them! So if you are humming and hawing over these boots, pull the trigger, you won’t regret it

TLDR: If you have muscular calves, these are, sadly, going to be a huge frustration and disappointment. Details below. When thesr came out for preorder, I measured and remeasured my calves to make sure they would fit. Given the measurements published with them and the stretch, they should have. The problem is that the ring of leather at the top of the boot, which has ZERO give - the stretchy fabric stretches plenty, but the leather ring it's sewn into defeats the entire purpose of the stretchy fabric. Fast forward to receiving my order, and they don't. When picking up my beloved Dr. Gunters from the Haight store, I talked to the shopkeepers about it. They suggested I bring them in to be stretched. Since I only needed them stretched a little bit, I thought that would work and I'd finally be able to wear these awesome boots. No such luck. The Haight store sent an email when they shipped them back to me, saying they did the best they could, which was my first hint that the issue hadn't been corrected. When I received my boots, I tried them on. The best I can say is I can now zip them. However, they are still so tight that they will cut off circulation if I wear them for more than a minute or two, and I definitely can't wear them over leggings to show off the amazing design on the top. I'll be taking them to a cobbler in hope of another solution, but I am so disappointed that these weren't made to be inclusive of muscular calves and I have to pay MORE money to get them to fit. I am positive that the cast of Strange New World doesn't have the miniscule calf size required to wear these without alterations, so why wouldn't that have been taken into consideration here? I was going to buy the grey version, but now I don't think I will. As beautiful as they are (and they are) and as much of a Trekkie as I am, the extra I have to go through to be able to wear these isn't worth it, and the sale price isn't enough to make up for having to take them to a cobbler to alter them so I can wear them. If they're ever redesigned without the constricting ring of leather at the top, I'd happily fork over the money for the grey pair, but not unless that happens.

I admit, I'm a long time Trekkie. Saw TOS original run. Love that our fave brand got to make the boots for the new show. I was so excited to get these boots! They are beautiful. They are comfortable. I am a Vog 10 in most styles, and have a longer 2nd toe and a widish foot, high instep. I bought these in an 11, and it was the correct choice for me. Tried on Manifoild family in store, before the boots were available. A smaller size in an oxford fits, but for full coverage that a boot supplies, I had to size up. They are a snug fit on my high instep, which makes the zipper a bit of a challenge to pull. But once on, they are marvelous. They do start molding to your shape. Love these!

I bought the black Starfleets in an 8 (I'm a street 7) and wore them for the first time at an industry tradeshow in NYC -- where I didn't sit down all day. They are surprisingly SUPER comfortable. I found them quite roomy, wide and long, so they were great for standing all day. They're a statement boot!

I'm not happy because I am a 9 1/2.... bought a 10.... and they're still too small! And they're out of 11. But I shouldn't have to go up a size and half.

The shoe part if these is very comfortable and fits well and is so beautiful but if you have and kind of muscle in your calves they will need a lot of wear in to get the zip the whole way up, I do not have squishy calves and there is no way I was getting the zip up first week even after double checking size with a fluevogologist, so love them but be prepared to give time to wear them in

I was also extremely disappointed in the size of the calves on these boots. I ordered a size up and I can get my foot in, but I can't get them zipped up higher than the ankles. I also spent another $100 to buy a Boot Band, which Fluevog recommended, and it doesn't fit the zipper. What a coincidence that they are not returnable- they are unwearable. I've bought a lot of shoes from fluevog, this is my only disappointment but it was an expensive enough mistake to make me second guess an more online purchases.

I too pre-ordered these boots in excitement for the possibility of having Star Trek themed boots, and I bought into the marketing that the elastic back would fit wide calves. I have always had trouble fitting into tall boots due to my calf size, but these were specifically advertised as being stretchy enough that that would not be a problem. Well, it is a BIG problem. When I first tried them on I could not even zip them all the way. After nearly two months on the boot stretcher at my local Fluevog store, they do technically zip, but they are so painful on my calves it's like wearing tourniquets. Since I cannot return them (and I do like the styling, admittedly) I went and purchased a third-party item called a Boot Band which is an insert designed to make tall boots fit wider calves. Even this does not solve the problem, because the zippers on these boots are BACKWARDs, so the Boot Band product goes on inside out, in other words unusable. So now I have spent nearly $500 on a pair of boots I can't wear, and I can't return. The no return policy on these boots is seriously f***** up. I don't think I'll ever buy another pair of Fluevogs after this experience.

I have about 10 pairs of Fluevogs from the past twenty years. I love them all, but they vary WIDELY on sizing so I was pleased that I spoke with a Fluevog stylist before pre-ordering these, so that I could go up a full size. That said I wish I'd gone up one more. They fit, and are almost comfortable, but I have to wear the thinnest socks possible with them, and OMG the elastic is SO TIGHT. I have squishy calves, and can usually zip up knee high boots, but oof. These left bruises on the back of my legs after a few hours of wear. I'm going to try to stretch out the elastic more and cross my fingers they get more comfortable! :)

I pre-ordered these last year and waited several months for them to arrive. I literally jumped up and down when they came in August. I never buy this kind of thing because I can never afford it. This time, I had a new job and could actually swing the money and was really thrilled to be able to do that. When I tried them on, I was literally on the verge of tears when I realized that the calf area was not stretchy enough and would never fit my leg. I'm short, so my calf widens lower than most boots expect, but I had hoped the stretchy would save me. It did not. I was willing to take the financial risk for a shoe I'd never seen or tried on that I couldn't return only because Fluevog said that they were a limited edition small run. I thought I'd be able to sell them for what I paid for them, so at least the financial risk was small. But now, they seem to be a regular item in the store. I can't return mine because I ordered early, but I can't re-sell because they're widely available. Not cool, Fluevog, not cool.

I was so excited for these boots as it was the merging of two of my favorite things; Star Trek and Fleuvogs. I’ve worn them once and they rubbed my ankle bones so bad I had blisters for 2 weeks and still have the scars. I have tried insoles and massaging the leather band to soften it, but no luck. I’m not sure I’ll ever wear them again. Makes me so sad. I will never preorder shoes again.

I attended my 1st Trek Convention on my Birthday in April 2022. The first person I met was William Shatner! Later I was looking at the New Uniforms of Spock and Captain Pike for the New Show Brave New Worlds, and something caught my eye! I was digging the Boots! About 10 Minutes Later I walked around the corner and there they were! I tried on a Pair and Fell in Love! The Most Comfortable Boot I have ever worn! So I treated myself and ordered a pair as a Birthday Gift to me and of course the connection to Star Trek. They finally arrived in July and I wore them for the first time in September and received so many compliments! I have never paid this much for a pair of Boots, but this was money well spent! They are a Perfect Fit and I plan on ordering a second pair!

I love these. I'm usually a 6.5/7, but sized up to an eight for these. The calf fits perfectly with a trouser sock. I tend to be fine with tall boots though. So, for those who aren't, it might be too snug. Love the Star Trek insignia and the asymmetrical toe. So easy to style with trousers and skirts/nylons. Not sure if I could fit them over a skinny pant, but that's okay.

I had to have these in gray and ordered them the first day of pre-release praying they would fit. The upside: they are amazing! I love these boots and can see them with so many of my outfits, not just when sci-fi events. I am an 8.5 in most Fluevogs but ordered up in this and the shoe fit is perfect. The downside: In typical Fluevog fashion, the calves are sooooo tiny! While I can zip them on my 16.5-inch calves, they literally cut the circulation off. Unless you are a 15.5 or less calf, you are going to have issues. They give a false sense of stretch due to the fabric back, but they do not really stretch due to the band at the top. I am looking at a variety of ways to make them fit because I love them, but unless you have small calves, you will be taking a major risk if you do not try them first.

Truth be told I have never spent this kind of money on boots but I couldn’t resist with their connection to the Star Trek universe and being a die hard Trekkie. They are gorgeous on and so unique. I have a flat foot sizing 8.5 to a 9 so I can fit my insoles but will only be able to insert a heel insole with these as I ordered a 9 and they fit perfect. I ALWAYS have issues zipping up boots due to chunky calves and these are indeed tight at top (to be 100% comfortable need to leave about 1.5 inches unzipped) but not any more than usual with other close fitting boots I’ve owned. I will see about stretching if I can find a trusted cobbler but would really appreciate other customers feedback once they have found a workaround
