The Fluevog Artist Grant is a $10,000 fund designed to support the creative growth and development of up-and-coming talent within our community of Fluevogers. This year’s recipient is a textile artist who is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Textiles and Fashion at NSCAD University in Halifax, NS.
Born and raised in Windsor, ON, Alexandria Masse specializes in the construction of wearable art, often sculpting with wools and other soft materials. With her artist grant winnings, she intends to create a trio of head garments, made from 100% wool sourced from maritime sheep farms, that each explore a different aspect of childhood experiences of love. Utilizing a method that runs strong in the matriarchy of her family, the project is closely tied to Alexandria’s experience as a second generation immigrant, her HongKonger heritage and fascination with the concept of love.
Congratulations Alexandria! We can’t wait to see how your project comes along!
