John Fluevog is famously known as someone who plays nice with others. As a result, he’s delighted to let you know about his latest collaboration and first with fellow family-owned, west coast shoemaker Viberg.
Proudly made in Canada, the Fluevog x Viberg Racer Boot is a combined effort that blends distinctive qualities from both designers into one truly representative creation.
“We’re very pleased to celebrate our 50th anniversary with Viberg through this collaboration! Two iconic family owned shoe businesses… Fluevog at 50 years and our friends at Viberg at over 100. It’s a rare thing indeed to last this distance with a specific hands on craft in Canada, especially in the footwear industry. We have both succeeded, against all odds, and that is something we can be proud of. Thanks to the family at Viberg for keeping the craft going and may we both see another 100 years of quality handmade footwear,” says John.
The unique silhouette, which references Fluevog’s original boxer-inspired Racer Boot, is made using iconic Black and Colour 8 Chromexcel leather from heritage Chicago tannery, Horween. The two-tone lace-to-toe boot features a 5 eyelet pattern with 4 speedhooks, and is capped off with two lace options, black waxed cotton and leather Fluevog turquoise laces.
The boots will retail for $700 USD on Viberg’s website later this week and will be available for pre-order only.
All pre-order Fluevog x Viberg boots ship with: a card of authenticity signed by John Fluevog and Glen Viberg, one set of Cedar Shoe Trees and one 4oz bottle of Shoe Cream.
As the fitting cherry on top of this delectable west coast collaboration, 10% of sales from this boot will be donated to the BC Parks Foundation.
