I was looking for a nice shoe to wear for my choir concerts as we’re required to wear black. But I was getting really tired of wearing my black sketchers. When I saw these shoes, I was a little concerned about the slightly pointy toe and the Gothie witchy vibe. My style is a little more Barbie meets glitter glam however, when I put these on, I was shocked with how comfortable they are, and how cool and unique they look. I love the crown tongue of this style, and the embossed JF under the patent leather.

The heal itself is great because it’s short enough that I can stand without having to feel wobbly during a choir concert. The only thing with these shoes is that the heel is very different, and because it scoops inward you don’t have that stability on the back that you would for a normal straight heal. So sometimes I feel like if I’m leaning back, I might tip which wouldn’t happen of course but it’s very different.

As with all of the shoes, John makes these ones are an experience.

I can’t wait to wear them for my choir performances and feel sleek, slightly Gothie, yet totally fashionable!

  • Classic and cool

I walked into the Brooklyn, NY store while on vacation to pick up a pair of Misty's and walked out with these gorgeous shoes instead. I've always loved looking at the pilgrims but wasn't 100% sure they were for me and I own a pair of superfines and this is like a mix of the two. These look great with a slim pant or dress with tights. Every time I wear them I get compliments. Super comfortable and true to size. Im in between an 8.5 and 9 in fluevogs and even though there's a point - where I would normally size up, I went with the 8.5's with no squeeze; very comfortable. The toe box is more square than pointed. I've worn them with and without socks and just love the look for something a bit different and Chic. These are such a classic/regal looking shoe, the crown on the front is super fun too! You won't regret it, go try on a pair. I just wish they came in additional colors as well. I would get them in every one.

  • Runs Very Large

My typical Fluevog size is a 10. My street size is a 9wide. I have wide ball of feet, kinda narrow heels, but I don't have a lot of foot volume. I decided to opt for these in a 9.5 since I have several Superfine are a 9.5. I was swimming in them, but the width was fine. I exchanged them for a 9, and I was still "walking" out of them. Exchanged them for an 8.5 and I still "walk" out of them and they are a bit narrow across the ball of the foot, and they are still a long on me. I can't stuff the toe with toe pads to push my foot back, either, because it will give me toe cramps/foot pain. I can't put insoles in the shoe, either. The heel cup of the shoe is too shallow and "wide"/not tight enough to grip my heel. The elastic on the buckle is too long, so I have to buckle up to the second to tightest hole of the strap, which means the buckle is practically on top of the tongue and it honestly doesn't look good. So, I will have to take them to my cobbler to stretch them out across the ball of the foot, shorten the elastic strap and probably shorten the buckle as well, and see if they can crush the heel cup a little so it actually grips my foot.
