Two thumbs up

I bought these boots online and ordered 1/2 a size bigger than my usual. I love them and have worn them many times to work since. I did take insoles out of another pair of boots and put them in the Kanawas to support my arches and I wear them with nylons. They are snug fitting but after a day or two they feel fine on my feet. They are comfortable to walk in, super stylish and versatile. I am so happy that I got them.

Lovely boot - but go a full size up!

Like others, I think this boot is GORGEOUS!! Nice heel height and soft leather. I'm a pretty consistent size 11, and bought the 11.5 on-line - but ended up exchanging for the 12 (looks like I may have gotten lucky with the last one in the region!)

Gorgeous boots and so comfortable, but SIZE UP!

I rolled the dice and ordered these online. I went up a full size from my "usual" Fluevog size, and am glad I did. For reference: I'm a street size US 9/40, medium width, low instep & longer toes. I take a 9.5 in most Fluevogs. The Hope Faiths work for me in a 10 with a thin sock. I definitely needed a 10.5 in these. These boots hit at a very flattering spot on the calf, and are **so comfortable**! I just wish the green had a bit more of a punch, but it's nothing a brighter shoe cream can't manage. :-) Thanks to Wes in Gastown for your help!

Love the boots, HOWEVER...

First, the boots are super cute, and actually fit my slender calves very well (so hard to find boots I'm not swimming in!). I ended up going up a full size - 1/2 size up, and I found my toes would graze the toe box if my foot slid forward just a smidge. I typically wear 8's in vogs with exception of vintage ones where I do need to go up a full size. They are very comfy and definitely good call on my part to return the 8.5's for the 9's.

HOWEVER, the 2nd pair I received had some glue around the seam of the sole and toe box on one of the boots- I had to take a razor blade to remove it! I debated about contacting the store with my issue, but decided to bit the bullet and take care of it myself (I didn't want to end up in situation where 9s were sold out or the whole hassle of dealing with this further). Bad quality control on Fluevog's part and BIG disappointment for $400 boots. The first pair I got didn't have this issue at all. My second issue is that the green has already scuffed from wearing them one night- I'm going to have to be super careful when wearing them as they easily scuff leaving white spots- also big disappointment for $400 boots.

Overall, super cute and comfy (I've been the hunt for a good "slouchy" boot forever since I wore out my last favorite pair 10 years ago), and I love the subtle dark green color. However, the quality control and so easily scuffed leaves me regretful I paid so much- especially now that they've been further reduced in price.

Honestly, I can’t go back to wearing any other boots!

I have these in red (burgundy) and can’t get enough!

I live in the Northwest Territories and our winters are pretty brutal, so, I generally take these to work with me so I don’t ruin them.

Becki hooked me up with these gems. I agree with other reviewers that the toe box is a little short and I went up from my usual 8.5 to 9 in this one. I put a foot petal in the front to be sure I didn’t slide around. The calf adjustment is pure genius and I get constant compliments on these boots (I have them in green). For comparison, I have the Evers in 8, Gogos and Tardys in 8.5. I can’t say enough about these awesome boots. Of all the ones I own they are the most comfortable. Thanks FLUEVOG and keep them coming in more colors!

Fluevog Kanawa rocks!

My first of may Fluevogs to own! These are sexy, feminine and also the most comfortable boots I’ve ever owned. They were an investment well worth investing in. I have high arches and most heels aren’t comfy. In these, I don’t feel like I’m wearing a heel,...and they make my calves look awesome! Plotting my next purchase!!!

I am in love.

I have been searching for the perfect pair of black boots for a while. I just received these today and I am totally smitten. I was worried that the size 8.5 wouldn't fit around my calves as they are larger than the 12.5" diameter quoted in the description, but they fit just fine...perfectly in fact. Disappointing sole

These boots are lovely and extremely comfortable, I really do love them. But I purchased these boots in November 2016, wore them to my office job maybe two times per week throughout the winter, and by March 2017 the rubber caps on the heals had worn out completely. When I took them into a Fluevog store to request repair and explain my strong disappointment, I was told that the wearing down of the soft rubber sole was "normal". Dear Fluevog, when I purchase a pair of black boots for $450, I expect to be able to use them longer then 5 months before I have to take them for repair.

There is hope for zaftig calves!

I wear a size 11.5-12 and my calves are 18"in diameter. My Mpls shoe fairy stretched the boots for me and added a few extra holes to the buckle tab. The boots fit like a dream and I got to wear them on vacation with cute sundresses while in Austin, Texas. ❤

These are PERFECT!

I have larger calves, and the very sweet Fluevog shop person punched a few extra holes on the side strap, and VOILÀ! Perfection! They're comfortable as all hell too. Out of the 5 pairs of Fluevog boots I own, these are by far my favorite. ❤

Gorgeous boots! (Not as green as the picture)

I grabbed these, my 10th pair of Fluevogs, with Christmas gift money. I typically wear a women's 8 in most Fluevogs and occasionally an 8.5. Due to having longish toes and other reviewers reporting a short toe box, I sized up to an 8.5. I'm very happy with the fit. The only thing I was a little disappointed with was that the green is quite muted compared to the pictures on the site. I was expecting a brighter, more eye catching green. Nonetheless, a lovely boot and the navy stacked heel is a lovely touch.

Great boots.

I have eyed these forever and finally pulled out the wallet to order the dark red ones. My hesitation has been due to my muscular calves. I've never found a Fluevog boot that would zip. I ordered my usual Fluevog size of 7.5. They arrived today and my feet slipped right in. My calves took a bit more work. Once the leather warmed a little, they zipped. I may have an extra hole put in the side gusset for the buckle so that my right calf doesn't look like a sausage with a rubber band around it, although the more I wear them the less snug they seem to be. All in all, they are comfortable and look great.

In Love!

Spent a chunk of my bonus on these beauties. I've been eyeing them for years and finally dropped the cash and they are awesome! I take an 8.5 in regular shoes, and anywhere from 8 to 9 in Fluevogs. Since my toes are long I've always thought this family was not for me. Then I thought of trying on the 9.5 with an insole and voilà! Perfect fit! My toes no longer hit the front of the shoe and I am a happy happy camper. The problem is: I want all the shoes!!!

Best Boots EVER

I LOVE these boots!!! They are the most comfortable boots I've ever owned and they are SO SO beautiful! Every time I wear them (or any other of my Vogs - I'm a vog-a-holic) I get complimented on them. Wore them to a wedding and danced away. I find the fit bang on as I wear an 8 in most shoes and I am an 8 in these. I may have got the wider fit and that's why but my toes never get cramped or crushed, these boots are made for walking, dancing and just in general, being happy!

First pair!

After much research and trying on too many boots to count, I remembered that one of my best friends raved about her fluevogs...and so begins the slippery slope. These boots are amazing, perfect for my shorter height (knee high boots always hit too high on my leg). They are snug, as I have extremely muscular/curvy calves, but I can still zip them up. Everyone's advice to size up was spot on, I'm normally a ten in most shoes, but went with 10.5, and they're perfect. Jamie, from the Minneapolis store, was doll in addressing my concerns, as I bought these without actually ever having tried on a single pair of fluevogs. I have a feeling this will be the first of many lovely pairs of shoes...

Ah-mazing in EVERY way!

I don't think it's possible to actually describe how perfect these boots are. (Especially in the red!!) I normally wear 9 1/2 for the boots and a 9 in the flats/heels -- and i'm glad that I stuck with my gut instinct with the 9 1/2 :) The moment that I put these on, I was madly in love with them. They seriously fit to your calves like a glove. You can adjust the calf buckle if you'd prefer them next to skin with a light patterned legging/tights, or loosen them a little to fit your favorite skinny jeans underneath. Walking in them, is walking on clouds. The heel and the rubber sole will leave me fearless in the winter storms that have yet to come.

Ryan in Denver was extremely helpful and informative regarding the ability to heat up the soles on a cold day, and took them away for their first spray down of the All Protector Spray. I probably even terrified him a little for my level of enthusiasm, excitement and love of these boots.

Beautifully crafted, had the scent of a new car. I slipped them on and the fit like a glove, looked like I'd struck gold this time.

I just needed black boots. But as soon as I took them out of the box-- another precisely crafted work of art.

These are small creative pieces, all of them.

And Feather, once again had them shipped in a day. Ever helpful as always, she should be made creative director but then you would lose a fantastic sales representative!

First sight!

I saw Fluevogs on my friend and she commented how she loved it. I thought why not check it out because we have a similar problem with wide feet. I have small and wide feet.

Wish there is more size 5 in the Boston location!

However, I happened to try this boot size 5 and it was perfect! Tad tight on the calf since needs some breaking down. I already asked Fluevog to stretch it for me. Maybe need to go back again? Other than that, it is soo comfortable! Then I should be able to tuck jeans underneath the boots! Can't wait for that.

These boots made my day!

The boots are clearly lovely and speak for themselves. I really wanted to give a special thanks to Monica at the SF store. I had to place a web order and asked for help sizing. I was worried about sizing up since I take a 71/2 in some styles and an 8 in others. Monica called and listened to me ramble on , she narrowed it down and recommended the 8. They arrived today and fit perfect. I couldn't be happier! If I would have sized up they for sure would have been too big. 3 cheers to you Monica! Thanks for the terrific service.

Best boots ever

I bought the last pair of these lovelies in green and I feel a little guilty about that, having deprived the rest of you of such a wonderful experience. That said, I feel certain that the black Kawanas are just as amazing. I ordered a half size up (7.5) and they fit perfectly. I don't have particularly large calves (14.25 inches) and I am just barely in them with tight jeans underneath. I think they will probably stretch a little bit with wear, but it you have even moderately large calves, you should probably be careful. All in all, they are some of the most beautiful, comfortable, high quality boots I've ever owned.

Beautiful!

These were just delivered at my door step and I am once again in love with the quality and style! The green is gorgeous, the boots fit my slightly chunkier calves and they are very very comfortable to walk in. I didn't have to size up so I snapped the last size 7. This is Fluevog pair number 4 in my shoe collection and I am sure there's going to be many many more to come! Also, I never bought online from fluevog before but the customer service is so fabulous - I just love the emails and the card in the box. We need a store in Sydney!!!!!

They're still on my feet

I was searching high and low for a pair of comfortable yet fashionable calf-height boots when I stumbled on these lovelies. I needed something versatile for my life and upcoming trip to Europe. Being somewhat short, the lower shaft height actually lengthens my legs and the little heel gives just enough height without being cumbersome to walk in. I was expecting two weeks for these beauties to arrive, but somehow they ended up on my doorstep the very next day. It's been a few hours since I first tried them on and simply love them so much I haven't taken them off. I will wear them around the house (not that they need breaking in) until I have to put socks on under them and actually leave the house. Fantastic shock absorption, super comfortable for my (longish) toes, but ordering half a size up is essential.

LOVE THEM!!!

I bought these in black (they didn't have green in my size) in November in Georgetown. I was nervous since I had never spent so much on a single pair of footware! But now I think they were worth every penny, I wear them ALL THE TIME (as long as the weather isn't messy). I even wore them with a black dress to a dressy party for a more funky look! They are so comfortable, sturdy, well-made, soft and unusual, chances are you won't see anyone with the same boots. I call them my shar-pei boots due to their loose leather folds around the ankle. I have a hard time finding boots that aren't too big around the calf and these are just perfect. Gee, maybe I should buy another pair in green now???

you can't but love them....

i mean, come one: they make your ankle look tiny and sexy, they're beautifully constructed of gorgeous leather, they feel divine, they don't slip in the snow, they get you compliments from perfect strangers, they keep you warm..... aaaaaand they make everything you wear them with effortlessly more stylish.

they are just the perfect boots (except for that very-true get-a-half-size-up thing). you seriously will not want to take them off.

Just had to have them!

Went to the SF Grant St store to find holiday shoes (Queen Transcendents Elizabeth Burgundy <3) and tried these on too. They only had my size in the green so I had to pass, even though it's a great color it just doesn't work for me. I kept visiting them on the website and then a friend told me she needed boots post-Christmas so I took her to the store. By then, another shipment of Kanawa's had arrived and there was one pair left in my size. It was just meant to be. I've never found a boot to fit my calves and just absolutely love these. Great heel height and rubber soles makes for great comfort. The leather draping is such a work of art. Thank you JF!

Perfect boots!

I was so excited when the Washington DC store opened, but alas, the location is difficult for me to get to. Thankfully, your website is still super easy to use! My dearest husband bought me a Fluevog gift card for a Christmas, and I couldn't wait to put it to good use. I had been looking for a great pair of black boots to go with jeans and skirts, and I hit the jackpot with the Kanawas from the Hopeful family. I have rather athletic calves, and although they were snug to zip at first, the leather is loosening nicely. I wear a size 8 in the Soprano and Stop It families, and the 8 fits perfectly in these boots as well. There is plenty of room in the toe box and the heel is just right for all-day comfort.. Really, who could ask for a better boot? @>-

Perfect!

I ordered these a while back, and finally an 8.5 came in at the Montreal store and Anthony quickly wrote me knowing how much I wanted these boots! The leather is a beautiful texture and my feet fit perfectly! I am normally an 8 or 8.5, and the 8.5 is just right. Just! The calves are narrow, but not as narrow as some of the other styles.. Luckily, my boots do zip nicely but snug!. Physically, Im not a petite woman, not voluptuous but athletic build.. I'd been hoping I'd get my skinny jeans tucked into these puppies but nothing will fit besides a pair of tights! (maybe over time). I'd like to call these... subdued sexy... they look nice with a dress and great with jeans! Best Christmas present to myself ever!!! ps. I had them under the tree straight from the post office, but sitting here looking at the box.. HAD to open them and put them on! Merry Christmas everyone!! ;)

Run very small

I fell in love with these boots at first sight (in green). When I called the store (in Chicago) to order them, I asked whether 9.5 would be big enough, given that the webpage says that they run small (I usually wear size 9, and own the Wonders Everest in size 9). I was assured that the boots don't run small and that 9.5 was plenty big. To my dismay, I can barely fit my feet into them. Returned! I would definitely order size 10.5, if I were to order them again.

Love, love my new boots!

I bought these gorgeous green darlings a few weeks ago at the new DC store (thanks Shawn for all your help!!) and they are just fantastic. This is from a super picky shoe and foot person, as I have metatarsal issues and need the right support. The color is pretty neutral and soon found more things in my closet to wear them with. Seriously considering on getting them in black too since a girl can never get enough Fluevogs. Meow!

Amazing Service, Amazing Boots!

Because I have a US PO Box and a UK residential address, I had to call the NY store to order. Alan was super helpful and extremely pleasant, and he posted my order really quickly.

Once the boots arrived, I was in love. They're just as lovely as they are on the site, and the leather is gorgeous. On Alan's recommendation, I got a 7 instead of my usual 6.5, which was the right call. I have 14.5-inch calves, so the boots *just* zip. Because the leather is so supple, the shaft wasn't uncomfortable, though.

Bottom line: these boots are gorgeous and you should buy them.

Great boots

I honestly wasn't going to try these boots on. I was trying on a couple of other styles when the sales clerk helping me brought them down and suggested I give them a try - they are perfect! They hit in just the right place on the calf if you are a short girl - and they feel amazing. I walked two miles in them the first day. I've worn them at least once a week for the past couple of months and continue to love them even more. An exact 7.5, and the buckle on the side gives a little room. Super cute and I feel awesome every time I put them on.

Wore them out of the store

I bought these at Gastown. I was about to pay for the Caravaggios and the Sharanpal when another client was trying these on. I had seen them when I came in and Wes asked if I wanted to try them on, but I said no thinking about the $$$ I was about so spend.After I saw how they look on I had to try them. One look and they had to be mine! I wore them out of the store,walked around Gastown, Robson, Granville and they felt great! I went with a size 8 as with all my boots. The heel feels solid and comfortable, the leather is very supple and thick and that fold over on the instep looks great when you have them on. I've wanted green boots for a while, wish Fluevog made more in this colour!

Oh. Oh. Oh. Get these. I bought the green pair this past August in the Granville St. store (and thanks to the patient young gent who brought out a billion boxes of boots for me to try on. Well, at least ten).

They were really not what I had been looking for, (was thinking tall lace-ups but don't have the patience after all!) and once my foot got in there that was it. They look amazing with absolutely everything, the leather was supple and didn't require any breaking in, and they are incredibly comfortable (hard to find shoes for this high-arched girl). Very, very pleased.
