Local artist Barbara Nelligan’s original artwork will be on display at John Fluevog Calgary’s Peanut Gallery starting October 10th. Barbara is a native Calgarian with a passion for painting with molten beeswax.
Encaustic painting, also known as hot wax painting, involves using heated beeswax to which colored pigments are added. The liquid or paste is then applied to a surface – usually prepared wood, though canvas and other materials are often used.
Barbara Nelligan’s work will be exhibiting at Fluevog Calgary’s Peanut Gallery from October 10th to December 1st 2017. The Opening Gala will be on Friday, October 13th, from 5 to 7 pm.
