Currently on display in store, the sculpture “David,” at 10m (34ft) tall, is the largest marionette in North America. It was created in 2009, by artist Peter Boulanger, for the opening of the Vancouver Trade and Convention Centre.
About The Underground Circus
Peter Boulanger and Ninon Parent are the artistic directors of the Underground Circus, operating out of BC’s west coast for the past 15 years. During their time directing and creating unique circus productions, Ninon developed as an photographer and painter while Peter discovered a love of creating large metal sculptures, preferably ones that moved. Both Peter and Ninon are graduates of Montreal’s L’Ecole National du Cirque and have toured with le Cirque Du Soleil back when in was the “little” Cirque du Soleil. As acrobats, they toured the world, performing in thousands of shows.
