Not comfortable at all

I got these shoes and sent them back the minute I put my poor feet in them. They are cute, but painful. I got a full size up, and have narrow feet, but these were so uncomfortable... There is absolutely no give to them at all - like they're made of wood. Nothing like the other Fluevog shoes I have and love, except they are cute looking, I'll give them that!

Freakishly awesome

I am a fan of these incredibly freaky and awesome shoes that don't just look cool but are actually comfortable. I have a bunch of the Operettas and Mini Fluevog styles, which look like they would be easier to walk in and more comfortable, but the Queen Transcendents are actually more comfortable than either. The leather is pretty stiff and can dig into your foot a little bit around the opening but one of the helpful salespeople wore them in for me by stretching and pinching the leather with a tool she had. There is plenty of room in the toe without feeling like my foot is slipping around, and the platform lessons fatigue from impact on the ball of the foot (a problem I have with operettas after a while). I am going to be wearing these to all my opera auditions from now on.

First Vogs...not my last

My first set of Fluevogs but certainly not my last. I wanted the red ones but when I saw the purple ones in the store I just knew they were mine. I have the hardest feet to shop for having a high arch, high bridge and a broad instep on a size 11 foot. These precocious Marie Jane's are so comfortable they practically walk themselves. I can wear them all day at work with no problems. They are the perfect addition to my 50's inspired wardrobe, and quirky personality. They did require some stretching, but that was not really an issue as most shoes do with me. I do wish the straps were just a little longer. A big thank you to the staff at the Montreal store on St Denis. They are warm, friendly, helpful and love their Vogs!

Another Fluevog Masterpiece

I just got these beauties today (in pink). I am definitely glad that I heeded the advice of the sales associate from the Quebec store (thanks for your help) and ordered these shoes 1/2 size up as they are narrow (although there is lots of room in the toebox, which is great for my long mutant toes). These shoes are quite stable (thanks John for designing these shoes with a solid platform) although I think it might take a couple of wears before these shoes are fully broken in for me. However, after that these shoes will be perfect.

I'm so glad I took a chance on these! I got them in green, and they look amazing. Definitely heed other peoples' experience with sizing! I normally wear 7-7.5 in other brands, and I got these in 8 and they're perfect. I feel like they were made for my feet- the toe of the shoe looks dainty and softly rounded (not wide looking), yet my toes can move and not feel pinched at all throughout the day. The pitch of the shoe makes the heel height feel much more gradual than it appears, so they were comfortable for a loooong day at work. I can't wait to get the Nefertitis next!

Can't. Stop. Staring.

Oh boy, this store is always dangerous. I have wee feet so it's a little sad that not all styles run lower than a 6. However, on this fine sale day, they had these beautiful heels in my size! They look rickety, but boy, are these heels mega stable, just like my Fluevog boots :) They are really stunning, ultra unique heel and super comfortable. The gals at Gastown were amazing, did a bit of stretching around hot spots on the shoes while I waited. I chose the purple/black combo (only colour way that comes with a coloured heel!) even though the pink ones were really my fav, thought the darker colour way would match more things. Love. Love. LOVE!

Tip on fitting: your size is not what you think it is. You will need to go up at least half a size, though if you have wider feet I'd go up a full one.

Who knew?

I tried these fierce bitches on at the Mulberry Street store in NYC during the contest to win a pair of vogs for 10 years. I went in with the distinct plan NOT to buy anything. So I tried on shoes I thought I'd never be able to walk in (they looked about an inch higher than anything I wear) and picked the pink ones because I thought they wouldn't go with anything I own.

Well, Alan put a pair of 9s on my feet (I usually wear an 8.5 and just as Alan suspected, that was too small/tight) and I was transformed.

But I held off. I was "good." But I kept looking at them online, salvating. Then boom, the Annual Sale and they're $100 off! Plus I had a credit with the store. What was a girl to do but call up the NYC store (I live upstate now) and get these girls shipped to me ASAP!

I'm a long time vog wearer, since 2000 with over a dozen pairs. These are up there with my favorites. I find them to be very comfortable despite looking like they wouldn't be. I love an ankle strap as my feet otherwise slip in the heel to the point of me abondoning heels sans ankle strap. The style of the heel couldn't be cooler and I love the buffed pink on the toes and heels. I consider myself to have wide feet but no issues with width here.

SOOOOOO PRETTY

As soon as these became available I had to have them! So sexy on so many levels! I bought them in the burgundy and love them to bits. I normally wear a 9 in other brands and I bought these in a 10 and I still find them difficult to wear for long periods. The leather is quite stiff and unforgiving to feet so find your thickest, fluffiest pair of socks and wear them around the house until you break them in. That being said, the first event I wore them to that caused me some pain was an event that had me on my feet for 4 solid hours-standing mostly in one spot on a concrete floor, I would have been better off if I had been able to at least move around more. As far as I am concerned that was a worst case scenario for any occasion I would be wearing high heels and to be honest, while my feet were sore and I was glad to take them off at the end of the night, I had no blisters, no rubbing, just sore feet. These shoes are simply stiff and need thorough breaking in- or at least events where you won't be standing all night. Don't give up! Or if you just can't do it, try the Nefertiti's, I also own those and the open sides with the softer leather make them so much easier to wear. The compliments I have received wearing these shoes are countless- worth every penny and the break in process

Happy Boxing Day Sale Delight!

So, I wanted these in purple since they came out...alas, I showed restraint. That is, until I went into a local shop that carries a few vogs and saw these were thirty percent off for boxing day. AND I had a gift card from the in-laws. I got a 10, which is a full size up from my "true" size. I also have the Nefertiti in 10. As someone with a narrow heel, these shoes are snug enough that I do not need to wear a heel grip. OH, and my five and a half year old niece loves them. She has already told me she wants my shoes when she is older, and has the eye for vogs.

Bring on the SHOE-OFF!

My husband spotted these shoes in San Francisco - we were window shopping on a Sunday morning before shops had opened. He used his entire body to try and block my view because he knew I would have to have them. I bought them in green a full size larger than I usually wear (I am a 9/9.5 and got a 10). the fit is perfect on my left foot; still a bit tight on my right foot which is half a size bigger. The first time I wore them was to a wedding and they gave the bride a run for her money. They were comfortable after being on my feet all night and then walking approximately a mile back to the hotel. Everyone wants to know about these shoes when I wear them. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Gorgeous shoes, fit a little small.

I walked into the Queen St. store in Toronto and fell in love. The claw foot heel stole my heart, and I knew I had to have them. Fabulous!

Since the first time I saw these shoes I have fallen in love with them. The heels are so unique. Then I discovered them on European online site Raspberry Heels (www.raspberryheels.com) and I did not wait a minute. Overall, the service of the EU seller was excellent, very professional, with perfect help on sizing. I received my order within few days and enjoyed the lovely postcard that came in the box. About the sizing: I wear 7.5 in Zazas and 8 in others Vogs families (Amandas, Baroques); I have medium wide foot. I agree with other reviewers that this model run small and narrow. I debated going whole size up, but at the end I chose just ½ bigger (8.5) as 9 might be too long. The fit is OK in length but my cobbler had to stretch them quite a bit (and I do not have wide foot). If you have wider foot I recommend going whole size up.

Hotter Than Queen Lizzy Herself!

These shoes are GORGEOUS! I had been looking for a dressy black Mary Jane, and these looked like they would fit the bill. I ordered them online, and the process was surprisingly fast. I ordered them on a Friday morning and got them on Tuesday. And when they arrived, I seriously thought I was going to have an orgasm by just looking at them. Then I tried them on, and my heart broke. My twin sister (who lives in a city with a Fluevog store) tried them on and told me to size up from my regular 6.5 to a 7. That is what I ordered, and they were still too small. I will admit that I have slightly wide feet (I can wear most B width shoes in 6.5). Because the size 7 was too small, I considered returning them and giving up, but I kept looking at them an couldn't tamp down my lust for them, so I got the 7.5, and they fit like a dream! Because they were a whole size bigger than what I normally wear, I was worried that my feet would look huge, but they don't. If you are unsure of these because of size, I would recommend that you order at least 1/2 if not a whole size larger.

I have these on layaway, but I tried them on in the Boston store when I was in the area planning my wedding. Well, I found my wedding shoes, that's for sure! I was going to wear my Mini Lovers, but that quickly changed!

I have smaller feet, so I found that the size I typically wear (6) worked just fine, I didn't need to go up a size. Getting them in green and I think they'll look fantastic with my dress paired with black and white striped tights (because I can!).

Extremely comfortable (once you put the second shoe on) and I felt incredibly stable.

Curse you, Boston store, for being so convenient.

I was in the neighborhood and came so close to just walking right by, but I've never been able to quite make it to the end of the block without turning right back around and going in. I was going to just look at the new stuff and go about my merry way like I have a thousand times before, but I walked out with these beauties in black. Dammit.

They're definitely quite rigid at first like everyone has said, and they're quite snug right at the edge of my toes. After wearing them of short distances and simply sitting in them while watching TV, they've loosened up considerably. I expected them to be pretty uncomfortable simply because of the height (and I was planning to just suck it up and deal) but the platform mitigates it considerably. Size-wise, I'm usually an 8.5 in most shoes, but a 9 or 9.5 in most Fluevogs, but a 10 in these fits me the best. Definitely expect to go larger in these than you'd expect.

Pretty AND wearable!

When I saw these on the Fluevog website last fall I thought they were beautiful. I also thought they would be horrible to walk in. Boy was I wrong on that last one! With the platform your foot isn't at an impossible angle, so they are oddly comfortable. They are stiff, so they feel like you're walking in clogs, and they sound like it, too. But I can wear them all day at work with no issues. I did have to stretch out the toe box a smidge and I ordered up 1/2 size from my regular shoe size. After being on your feet for a few minutes, your body heat does stretch out the leather a bit, too. Great heels!

As Amazing as you think they are!!!

I have looooved these shoes from afar and finally decided to take the plunge on the green ones during the St. Patty's day sale. They are amazing. Were a little tight across the toes when I first put them on, but withing 30 mins, had stretched and were perfect. I have worn them to work and have had people stop meetings to see them and stop me in the hallway - huge attention getters!!! I had to go up a 1/2 size from my normal size and Ramona from the NY store was incredibly helpful and amazing to work with. Not my first pair of Vogs and definitely will not be my last.

Bitter sweet

These shoes.... i do love them, they are pretty, i'll say that first.

But i have a problem spending nearly 400$ on shoes only to have them come to me too tight and with the heel on crooked. I did order these a size larger, it's a smart idea, but the vamp was still too tight for me to be able to wear them out of the box so i needed to stretch them before i could wear them. Once they were stretched and i was able to wear them i discovered a heel was on crooked and so walking is funny. I can't believe "hand made" shoes have so little attention payed to them so as to not notice a crooked heel. On top of this no one from the L.A. store ever called to check on the product despite requesting my number.

On my usual pilgrimage to the SF store, my fiancé bought me these as the best Valentines gift ever.

I have very narrow feet, to the point where I can't wear some of my favorite styles. These fit like a dream...and the sales person recommended arch supports will be my new life saver.

The best shoes in the world....

A long time Fluevoger with over 15 pairs, I have always found some of the pumps hit or miss for my short fat feet. So after I fell in love with the Elizabeth online I tried to control my anticipation when I walked into the Granville store - I was afraid other reviews calling the shoe narrow would not work for me. I slipped my 6.5D foot into the Elizabeth 7.5 and alas - it was like Cinderella trying on the glass slipper. Width was great, lots of room in the toe, and while the leather is stiff I'm confident it will soften very quickly due to the very high quality used. The only emotion I had to control on this visit was not buying a pair in each colour! I will wear these shoes everywhere!

I spotted these on a Fluevog employee while they were still being field tested ... and thus began my love of all things Fluevog! I finally made my way to the Georgetown (Washington, D.C.) store the other night to purchase them. I've worn them twice now, and I can barely get down the block without being stopped to inquire as to the designer. One woman shouted from across the sidewalk how cool they are! On the sizing, I actually went up to a 10.5 from my usual fit of a 9, and the shoes feel great -- no pinching and with the strap, I have no concerns of slipping out. LOVE LOVE LOVE my Elizabeths in green!

I had been eyeing these shoes since they arrived on the website a few months ago, especially as they have such a great name. ;)

Finally, I ordered a pair, after agonizing over colour choice, in green and I am in awe of their beauty. Such an amazing work of art!

Sizing: I am a 9 in most shoes, and usually a 9.5 in Fluevogs. I ordered a 10 in these and I am very glad I did as they *just* fit, but are tight across the top. I will stretch them and they will be fine. Apart from that, they are very comfortable.

Thanks Denny @ San Francisco store

I fell in love with these babies from the moment I spotted them- there is such a thing as love at first sight. I'm normally a US 9 and my feet are broad and pudgy and this model does run small- I decided to upsize to a US 10 and kept my fingers firmly crossed that they would fit- alas not to be- they are a tad squishy in the instep- but nothing that a good cobbler can't stretch- problem sorted. Thank you Allen & Granville Store!!!

well, I was sooo sad when the 11 of this shoe did not fit me. i was debating requesting a larger model, but turns out the granville store complained before me and voila! they are now made in an 11.5 and a 12 now. big difference in comfort in squishy toes and the cut of the hard patent leather - so go big or go home.

Allen made my day when he mentioned that they come in larger sizes now. The Gastown staff (susie?) secured me my green dream shoe in Toronto...on order. so many other customers commented as i paraded around, even to a tour of tourists outside the window i got to model for! classy, i love that these are customer driven and the postmodern 'furniture' heel got imbedded. just wish is was wood... these shoes are AAAmazing. likely my fave of dozens. ]:o) my friend bought red, looks like we are off to OZ (or to transcend some Christmas function in red and green elizabethans!) Great service all round.

Worth every cent...

Out of my still quite small (by dedicated Fluevog fan standards, anyway) but growing collection of Fluevogs, these are hands-down the absolute best! I bought them as a birthday/Christmas present for myself and from the moment I lifted them out of the box I was enchanted. Choosing between the green and the burgundy was difficult, but in the end I went with burgundy and while they perfectly match my fave vintage leather trench they also look amazing with black...and probably everything else in my closet, because I never want to take these off! I know there will be more than a few jealous folks in this little town.

Now, to get to the part I know you all want to hear about--sizing. Before I ordered these I read all the reviews saying to size up, but my experience with Fluevogs has been that most run a little too wide for my liking. I have skinny little bony feet with no arch to speak of, so I usually have to buckle 'em tight or lace them as small as they'll go. When the email came from the nice SA in New York wanting to know if I would like to size up from the 6.5 I had requested to a 7, I declined as she had explained that most people were finding these shoes very narrow which was the reason they were going a size up. Well, let me tell you, if you have narrow feet like me, you will be in heaven with these shoes! My usual 6.5 fit perfectly in all the right ways, with no sliding or roominess anywhere, just the way I like them. Finally! I think I heard the Hallelujah chorus in the background as I slipped them on, because this never happens. If you have average to wider feet, then yes, I would say you should consider getting a half or maybe even a full size larger than the one you usually take.

Bottom line: I don't normally shell out full price for shoes, but these were *so* worth it.

Things you should know...

First, let me say that I am in passionate love with this shoe. It's not really a pair of shoes, it's a work of performance art when you wear them, lol. But I wanted to say a couple things for potential buyers. First, the shoes are LOUD. Let's just say, people will hear the shoe before they see the shoe, lol. If you are walking on a hard surface, like a hardwood floor, prepare for some noise. I wish they would keep that in mind when choosing the materials for a shoe. Second, people are advising to go up a half size, and that is an option. But I like my shoes to hug my foot and this shoe makes your foot look bigger, so I didn't want to go up in size. The only reason I can see to go up in size is because the toe box has too low of a profile (this is a design flaw, I think). But one solution is to just have it stretched and then it will fit well. So no sense making the whole shoe bigger, just to have more room in the toe. Just stretch the leather at that point. Thanks to the San Fran Union Square store for that suggestion! We actually figured that out because they sent me the wrong color and it fit GREAT in the toe box and then they sent me the right color and it was WAY MORE TIGHT in the toe box (but the shoes were the same size). The guy at the store figured out that the the first pair in the wrong color had been stretched out by someone who had previously tried them on. So I stretched the second pair and they fit like a dream! Hope that helps!

So Unique

I love these. They are so unique. I can't wait to wear them to work. Everyone always notices my unique shoes. These are on the top of my list of unique. Love the heels. Also Jack in Chicago was so helpful at the store. I usually wear a size 7 but I did get a 8 in these. The 71/2 fit but was tight, so I went with the 8 since I'll be wearing tights with them.

Beautiful

These shoes are my most striking ever. I am between a 7 and 7.5 size in Fluevogs and was advised by Montreal store to order the 7.5. They fit well, with a bit of room in the toe area, but I like it - much better than too squished. The size 7 would have fit a bit too perfectly. I wore them first with pants and colleagues remarked they were way toooo beautiful to cover up at all - they need to be showcased, so wear them more with skirts now! They are very comfortable - look higher than they are - they are not high at all. The green is a lovely colour. So happy with these. Would love to have the red... maybe some day... ,->

Disappointed

I was pretty disappointed with my first Fluevog purchase. I read all of the reviews and ordered a half size larger. The Queen Transcendent Mary Jane's were tight, small and very uncomfortable. I was also disappointed as there was a box that I checked in the online checkout for someone to call you from the store to ensure you had ordered the correct size. While my shoes arrived promptly, no one called me. I'm not ordering a replacement pair or any more of these shoes. Very disappointed with all I've heard and read about these. They are super-cute shoes, but you would think comfort might be built in for over $300 for a pair of shoes. :-(

Great design but runs very small

I just got my pair of Elizabeths in burgundy via UPS. The quality is great. Beautiful color, and great craftsmanship. Your weight is distributed evenly so all the pressure isn't on the ball of your feet. Warning though that this style runs very small. I'm on the border between 10 and 10.5 depending on the style so I went ahead and ordered the 10.5 as per the recommendations. They were still too tight! As usual customer service is great and I'll be going to their NYC store in person to exchange them for an 11. So if you're between sizes I recommend just going up an entire size.

Fit small but are amazing

Similar to the other comments, these shoes fit SMALL. In a regular non-vog shoe I'm an 8.5, but I'm always a 9 in Fluevogs so I was pretty surprised when a 9 was too small in this style. Not only did the shoe fit too short, but it really squeezed the top of my foot. Going up another 1/2 size to a 9.5 was all that was needed to have these gorgeous shoes fitting perfectly.

W.O.W

I fell in love with the red and your wonderful staff helped me out, as I could not get to a store to try these on. First pair too short, so without any drama I returned them and a replacement pair arrived in no time! They are gorgeous. I love, love, love them. I got them in the burgundy, 9.5, my usual 'vog size. They fit like a dream! I wore them for the first time on Friday, all day, and didn't have a single issue. Comfortable, stable, and eye catching! I seriously had people just staring at my feet, working up the courage to ask me where on earth I got my shoes!

Fabulous

Wearing these means you have to like people, because they all come up and want to talk about your shoes!! Words fail me in describing how fabulous these are. Moderately comfortable, I am able to dance tango in these. Size wise, they run small. The stores advice was spot on. Go up a half size. I'm usually a standard 9.5, these are 10 and fit exactly. @>-

Can't Wait for Christmas!

I brought my Mom in for her first pair of 'Vogs and she offered to buy these for me as a Christmas present. I went for it! I have to wait to wear them, but I know they are safely nestled in the back of her closet :) I went up half a size in these, because the edge of the top rubbed my foot REALLY badly. Half a size up and the fit was perfect.

These make my legs look so gorgeous. I might need a second pear for "indoor only" wear :P They are just SO SEXY!

true to size for me at 6.5

I wear a 6.5 in every Vog I've ever tried (Bellevues, Merit,K2) and these were no exception. I didn't get to bring them home because the low front rode in just the wrong spot, but length and width were perfect for me. I have B width ball and AA width heel. Looking forward to the next Queen Transcendent incarnation. I've heard rumours. I am excited.

Stable .... and snug!

The emerald green is simply the loveliest. These - a beautiful homage to one of the most amazing women in recent history - are very stable for such an "out there" heel, and the heel height is modified by the platform, whicih is welcome. Thanks for the expert sizing info, San Fran, as indeed they fit snug. If you're an 8 in Malibran, Voggers, go up a half size in this fabulous shoe.

Best Fluevogs Ever!!!!

I bought the green ones and the reddish ones today. I had to go up a size to a 9 since they fit a bit narrowly. I have many (30 plus) fluevogs and these are the best ones yet! Thanks John!!!!

Oh, you clever, clever people. I ordered these in green, and the Calgary store shipped them right up to me. I opened the box and as my 13-year old daughter would say 'holy motherclucker". There are shoes and then there are SHOES, and these are SHOES in the boldest and biggest font imaginable. I own many pairs of Vogs but these are simply the tops. Is it coincidence my middle name is Elizabeth? I think not. This was destiny. I went with a size 8 (normally a 7 and 1/2) they fit like a glove and frankly I cannot wait to knock 'em dead in my little city when I wear these out. Thank you once again for giving me art to wear on my feet!

Super Star

Love, love, love these shoes. They had just come in and I spied them sitting on the counter. As soon as I put them on I knew I had to have them. How can you not feel like a super star strutting around in these babies? I found they fit true to size.

So amazing!

You know you want these -- go ahead and treat yourself. I bought these in Emerald and they may be my most striking pair of Vogs yet, which is saying something. The card that came with my order -- "Oh my Gawd! These shoes!" -- says it all!

However, the DC store contacted me after I placed my order and warned me that they've been having people go up half a size with this shoe. That turned out to be excellent advice. I've got a wide foot, and while I usually take a 7 in Vogs, the 7.5 is snug on my feet and I'm glad I didn't risk the lower size. Thanks for watching out for me, DC!

bigger sizes please!

Now I have come to realize that Fluevogs run small. I am usually a 10.5 but in most all shoes go to an 11 as manufacturers don't feel a 10.5 is a big enough market.

and I was OK that you guys ran small as you went up to 12 (and 13 in some). except for these - and I am heart broken as I know if you had them in my size when I was in the Haight Street store, I would have walked out with a pair (:`(

Prettiest Pair Yet?

These are my 24th pair of Fluevogs, and I think they might just be my favorite (or maybe tied with my pretty sweet Grand Nationals)! The green is stunning - more vibrant than the pics on the site. I have been begging for a green heel, and these are everything I could have wanted. They're a little gothy, a little strange, but they are so well balanced that you could wear them with formal wear or just jeans. All but one pair of my Fluevog heels are size 7svand these seemed pretty true to size. I didn't feel a lot of difference between the 7s & 7.5 and since it was late in a long day of being on my feet, I went with the smaller size.

I'd love to see these in a Royal Blue leather with a black wash, too. And hopefully more of this heel shape. I can't wait to wear this lovelies out on the town!
