I do what I love, and love what I do.
What do you do?
I design jewelry for Walmart, mostly licensed for Nickelodeon, Disney. I design food gifts that are sold in Target, Barnes and Noble, Walmart, Cracker Barrel. I design pet accessories that are sold in Target. Also, logos, brochures, web sites, etc. Apart from design, I enjoy cooking, painting and boating. I particularly enjoy painting. I love to paint on my spare time. I scavenge for old wood boards, and paint them look like an antique sign.
On Kim’s first Fluevog encounter:
About 8 or 9 years ago I was searching for a specific kind of shoe, a black sandal with an ankle strap. My Google search lead me to Fluevog.com where I found and fell in love with the Hi Choice San Filippo! After poking around the site for a minute or two, I was hooked on Fluevogs and have been ever since.
On entering the FluevogCreative contest:
Third time’s a charm! This is my third time making it to the final 4. I love a challenge, I love to design and I love Fluevogs.
On the inspiration behind his winning ad Arabella:
My inspiration for the ad was the contrasting stitching detail on this shoe and knew I wanted to use it in the ad. I tried to envision a design that I thought Arabella, at Fluevog HQ would be proud of.
On what the dreams and future hold for Kim:
My dreams are to keep building my business. I can’t wait to wake up in the morning to start working, and often my family has to pull me away from my office in the evening. I just want to keep on keepin’ on. I am so blessed in that since finishing school, I’ve never had to work a day in my life. Design is a way of life rather than just a day job that you leave behind.
Keep an eye out in Vice, Applied Arts, and Bust magazines for Kim’s winning design in print.
