We’re so excited to share with you the energies and journeys that led to this collection. We did a preemptive study of love monitoring randomly sampled across all Fluevogologists and this was the highest score WE’VE EVER SEEN! (Yes, we wore lab coats for more serious testing.)
To speak to the season in all its elegance we thought it only fitting to step into the studio and ask Arabella Barros ❤️ our Creative Director to set the stage for Fluevog’s Fall/Winter 2026! (Lab coats off!!)
We have been working on this collection for so long, and I LOVE that it’s time to share with Fluevogers our vibes and feelings around it and why it’s been so special to design and develop our latest fav shoes!! Fall/Winter ’26 is inspired by John’s reflections on the tension of a turning era and how the elegance of Napoleonic and Edwardian styles collides with the early rise of the Machine Age. It was a time of strong silhouettes, braids, feathers and plumes, lace and brocade, sharp regalia tailoring, metal trims, and ceremonial pomp… but also a time when ego-driven leadership caused devastation.
That contradiction feels familiar because history repeats itself.
And while the world changes rapidly, at Fluevog we hold tight to what doesn’t: freedom, individuality, creativity, fun, funk, and compassion.
This season is not literal history; it’s a metaphor. A reminder to protect what matters, question false power, and keep your spirit and creative consciousness intact while the world tries to tell you who to be.
The creative direction behind Fall/Winter ’26 began with the (usual) deep obsession with materials, colour, texture, and historical references. That journey naturally led into a world of military regalia, rugged romanticism, ceremonial dressing, and playful forms of self-expression.
At Fluevog, we use mixed materials and layered textures as a metaphor for human uniqueness, and as an acknowledgment that, as John loves to say, “we are not only one thing.” We are all a collection of influences, cultures, memories, emotions, and references gathered throughout our life journeys, layered together. Some of the strongest inspirations come from our purest and most playful childhood memories — the ones we tend to connect with most emotionally. Our shoes are emotional, artistic, full of personality, and beautifully crafted, just like the unique souls who take them home.
We introduce this season the idea of the Urban Ryder, a modern-day hero travelling through the Town of Vog, spreading peace, individuality, and positive energy. Riding alongside Horus the stylish horse, Freddy the Fluedog, Agnes, and Dragon, the Urban Ryders stand up against dark forces trying to drain creativity, freedom, and expression from the town.
