Kristina Engle, Fluevog Boston Manager
Years with Fluevog: 5
What are your favourite styles right now?
All of the sneakers: Leeside, SJO, Solstice, Saturday. The pandemic really brought comfort to the forefront for me.
What was your first Fluevog experience?
I was ready for something new and exciting and Jason Branson (the Fluevog Chicago manager and a colleague of mine) let me know that Fluevog was hiring. He called me and we chatted for over an hour. He is the reason I know about Fluevog and why I applied later that week. The rest is history!
Describe Boston in a nutshell:
“Come in the summer”. Don’t get me wrong, snow in the city is beautiful, but the crazy winds we get are not so fun. The city comes alive in the summer: Red Sox games, eating outside, beaches. Come hungry too… Boston has some really good food.
Something that would surprise people about Boston:
It’s a very walkable, clean city.
Favourite part of working for Fluevog?
Honestly, my colleagues. The managers and staff, my boss who continues to support me no matter how crazy I may sound sometimes. It feels like family here. It might be slightly dysfunctional, but what family isn’t?!
Something that would surprise people about you:
I’m very competitive and I like peanut butter sandwiches with my spaghetti and red sauce.
What is your favourite Fluevog store (other than your own)?
I think the Gastown flagship is my favorite. Vancouver, the city was so beautiful to me on its own, and then walking into the store and seeing it so open with the offices upstairs. It all made me happy, and made me feel Fluevog.
Strangest pronunciation of Fluevog of Fluevog you’ve heard?
Flooflog
