What does being an artist/designer mean to you?
Being an artist/designer to me means being a storyteller. You are kind of weaving a narrative for the viewer, often in just one single image. It’s sometimes a happy short story or just as often it can be an image loaded with allegory and depth.
Susan Enzensberger | Ottawa, ON
What gets your creative juices flowing?
Seeing things or circumstances and considering just how to convey them in a way that is enduring, I will often use humour and/or an unusual portrayal. Art is an exciting but frustrating challenge to try to interpret and communicate and trying to meet that challenge successfully is what really releases those creative juices.
Billie Biggs | Edmonton, AB
What’s the strangest art/design project you’ve been a part of?
Die Antwoord cover album contest. I’ll just say it’s the first time I’ve painted a peen.
