Your favo(u)rite photography series is back! We opened in Brooklyn last October and while we’d say we’re pretty well acquainted with the area by now, we’re still happy to have local photographer @colin_ridgway on board to show us around the neighborhood, StreetVogs style! Follow along @StreetVogs and @Fluevog as we take a visual journey through the streets of Brooklyn in both colour and black and white!
Here’s a bit about Colin in his own words:
I was born and raised on Long Island, NY which is only a short train ride away from Manhattan. In 2013 I started my first job in the city in sales. To put it simply, I hated it. What I didn’t hate however, was learning that no matter where you look in this city, there is always something happening. Because of this, I wanted to be able to capture those moments that captivated my attention and ended up investing in my first camera. I would walk around with my Canon T3i and kit lens after work during the week shooting what caught my eye and then follow that up with a train back home to Long Island. The quality of the photos were terrible; I don’t even think I did any post processing at the time, but the experience was worth it. I’ve been shooting ever since and have fortunately upgraded my camera since then. I moved to Williamsburg, Brooklyn in April 2017 with my girlfriend Liz, and our cat Brooks and my Canon 6D rarely leave my side.
