Before Fluevog Edmonton opens for business on Whyte Ave, we thought we should get to know the city a little better. Thankfully, our friend and photographer @brendenzap made the move to the Albertan capital ahead of us and has agreed to give us his photographic take on the city StreetVogs style! Follow along @StreetVogs and @Fluevog in the next few weeks for a look at Edmonton through the lens of a talented and curious newbie!
Here’s a bit about Brenden in his own words:
I only moved to Edmonton recently and it feels like I’ve known this city my entire life. Growing up in the suburbs outside of Vancouver gave me an outside perspective of a city that I always wanted to be in. Now, in Edmonton, I feel like I have the best of both worlds living in a neighborhood that is right between Whyte Ave and downtown. It was hard leaving the ocean, but the river valley was love at first sight. My first camera was an old FTb that my grandpa owned. Just like with my grandfather, photography became my obsession. I wasn’t obsessed with the camera or the pictures, I just loved capturing people and moments. My photos are a collections of memories more than anything else. I’m glad I get to share my memories of discovering a new city with everyone.
