  • Radios

Have these in tan but I would love to see the purple ones rereleased. Original Radios somewhat narrow but they easily soften up an feel better quickly. The Radio 2 is perfect out of the box.

  • Great all round shoe!

I’ve have my CBCs for about 10 years and they’re finally wearing out :(

I’ve treated these shoes well, not babied them, but wore them at least once a week and sometime multiple days walking for miles on trade shoe floors.

I always get compliments. The small blue accent and the matching blue laces on the brown shoes definitely draw attention to an otherwise simple shoe.

Definitely going to be missed... maybe a second pair is due...

  • The Classic Fluevog Shoe

I got the black CBC's four years ago and they were my first pair of Fluevogs. In that time I have never had to change the soles or heels and as long as you take care of the leather (neutral cream and or black polish and all-protector spray once every couple of months) they will look like new forever. They are so versatile - fun enough for a party, conservative enough for an interview, and perfect for just walking around town. It is the perfect beginner shoe for those who feel a little intimidated by some of the awesomeness at fluevog - once you feel them on your feet, get a compliment or three dozen, and, most of all, when you see yourself in them you won't be able to resist getting some more.

  • Another pair

My first pair (the classic brown) was a bit tight on one foot initially but eased out over time to be wonderful. I bought a second pair (red) a half size larger and have fallen in love again! I'm hoping I can get my first pair resoled by my local cobbler 'cos they'll need it soon. Next I'll be buying the green/brown/purple combo .... as I write they are on special but not in my size .... darn!

Don't ever stop making these shoes, please Mr JF!!!! ...and can you get a slightly harder wearing sole??

  • BEST SHOES EVER

I wear these nearly every day and they are hands down my favorite shoes -- They are incredibly comfortable and handle wear and tear in all weather as long as you maintain them with mink oil -- I would own them in every color if I could afford it.

  • Classic, cool and chic-- but suprisingly narrow

In general, I am a big fan of oxfords for work use and casual around town wear. I've coveted the red CBC Radios all year, keeping on eye on specials. When they went on sale I finally snagged a pair. My wide foot is challenged by some Fluevog styles, and I do wish this pair had been available in a men's width 8.5 rather than the women's 10.5 that I ordered, but that's all that was left come sale time.

Fluevogs tend to run small on me in general (I normally wear a 9.5-10/ European 40-41 in other shoes but often have to go up a full size in Fluevogs for a comfortable fit). The men's model might have given just a little more width. They are crazy narrow in fit, and way more narrow in appearance than they looked on-line. It took me about 2 weeks of regular wear to get them stretched enough to be comfy. They're very stiff and reminded me of having to break in new school shoes back in my grade school days! But, now I wear them for fun and it's less of a chore now that they've loosed up some, though still stiff and slightly tight across the top of my foot. As others have suggested on Facebook, and I agree, Fluevog should make some wider shoes for us not-abnormal folks who do not have skinny ski feet. (I mean, I am not a freak! I don't have hobbit feet. They're perfectly average in appearance!) Whatever the case, I do get lots of compliments on my boss, bad ass red shoes.

  • Disappointing Quality

I bought these shoes last year for some events I was working. I loved the style and the finish. Super comfortable too. Unfortunately, the sole started to separate from the shoe within a couple days of wearing them. A couple days later, the rubber pad on the bottom began to separate as well. Long story short, the store wouldn’t honour a warrantee on them as I was late getting them in for a repair due to Covid closures. Sad to say this was my first and last pair of Fluevogs.

  • Poor quality, didn't hold up to day to day walking

I purchased these shoes late March this year. Within 6 months, the outer rubber soles on the heels are shredded, the heel cups are broken and rubber outer sole at the ball of the foot is largely worn out. If you intend to use these for even moderate amount of walking, I don't recommend them.

  • Bummed

I have been a Fluevoger for years and my last purchase late September 2013 of these and three other pairs just didn't have the quality that I had come to expect. ALL FOUR PAIRS completely fell apart and or become unwearable within about 11 months. I bought the green ones BTW. I am disabled (walk on a cane) and am a little rough on shoes because of this but I still have older pairs that are kicking YEARS later. Sadly this may be my last Fluevog memory.

  • Amazing!

I have only ever worn skate shoes and sports shoes my whole life, and I have never had a shoe which is only intended for walking. I was looking at a few other shoes, but the CBC appealed to me. It was not a dress shoe and it did not have a complex look to it, like the Dean for example. It felt amazing once I put it on and that's what sold me. The foot support is great, and it is made with amazing quality. The simple look makes it so unique compared to some other shoes. The price is not to bad, but it's worth every dollar.

  • Old fashioned meets fashion-forward

Got a pair of these in the tan suede. I love the worn look of the suede, and the cut is so unique. We were on a family vacation in Whistler and had to visit the Gastown store, as Fluevogs are my wife's and my favorite shoes....we left with a couple bags! :-) Love this pair!

  • :)

I was given a pair of CBC Radios in Brown as a gift, little did I know it was the gift that keeps on giving! I don't go a day without receiving compliments on them (the teal laces don't hurt) and/or people wearing their own vogs nodding in approval as they pass by.

Initally the 12 and 1/2 was too big but the exchange process was pleasant and painless! I was treated like a rockstar by the staff and I'm greeted like one by people on the street.

And for those wondering about stretch for wider feet, I take an E width and after 2 days of wearing the shoes around the house they fit like gloves.

I wear them daily to work and anytime I don't wear shorts. I rock them with blazer/dress shirts, casually with jeans, a cap and a plaid, or the sensible semi-casual for work and I get the same results every time: compliments (and questions on where to get a pair)!

This is my first pair but certainly won't be the last. Thanks!!!

  • Great Shoes, but weak soles

These shoes look great, but the soles wear out too fast for the cost. I ordered them online and after the original had to be exchanged due to bad stitching on the inside, fluevog made it right. After walking in the shoes for two weeks the soles had all but fallen apart. I stopped in the Soho, NY store and they suggested that I go to a cobbler and have them put vibram soles on the shoes. Seems like a bad idea after only owning the shoes for a few months at that point. any other ideas?

  • I have four pair of radios, CBC's in black and also in purple. The leather used on the black pair is terrific, the only care needed is a little mink paste rubbed into the uppers once in a while. after a year, they still look brand new. The purple are not quite as easy to maintain, but still, a little time with a brush is nothing to cry about. Like all radio's, the fit is perfect for me; I have dead on "normal" size 9 paws without any problems. Radios fit like they were made for me. Unfortunately, the uppers on all four pair of radios I have have, or have begun, to separate from the soles. This makes me very sad. I expect to replace the rubber soles at least once a year, I am disappointed that I have two pair returned already (bought 'em this summer) to have the uppers re-glued. When those are ready to pick up I'll have to have the other two pair repaired as well; I just can't be without all four at once. I'm spoiled that way, what can I say? Going to have to hold back on any more radios or other glued up soles for now. (-(

  • Wow

I was browsing online and saw this these shoes on a new website for shoes to have for fall. I knew right away I needed them. I had to order my size out of Seattle, a tad too big due to no half sizes, but still fit well enough. I love these shoes. I have several pair of cole haans, a pair of to boot new yorks, and john vs. These are by far my favorite shoes I own. Ive spent 1500 on shoes in the last year, and these are by far my favorite. I have them in purple, I wear them to work or going out. Fluevog is who im going to look to the next time I want a fun pair of comfortable shoes.

  • More gorgeous than I'd realized

I have the green pair, and I thought they were beautiful from the moment I put them on. It was months later, though, when I finally understood just how gorgeous they are. I was walking across Saskatoon's Broadway Bridge on a summer Saturday, admiring the classically stylish cut of the shoes on a guy walking ahead of me. It took me a few minutes to realize they were CBC's. I'd had no idea MY shoes looked that good, but they do. (I didn't say anything to the guy on the bridge. We're Canadian and very reserved.)

I love my new pair of purple radios, and so does everybody else! These are super cool, and the purple is a really great color. Size is consistent with other styles I have, and after wearing them around the house for a few minutes they felt great!

  • Yep, they are a narrower fit. My Beat Duncan's are fantastic and I bought these from NZ thinking The same size would be great. ... But with one foot slightly larger than the other I find one shoe a bit of a tight fit. The 'small' shoe is gradually easing out...

  • I was able to try these pups on in a local store. I found for some reason that the men's size 9 fit perfectly. They also had a women's size 11, (which is my size), but it was too slight. So, I found these in the burnt orange. Ordered men's size 9 and fit perfect. I do however have a narrow foot. So, these do run narrow. ,-)

  • Comfortable/Smart

I am an absolute sucker for little details and this shoe certainly delivers in that department. I own the brown and the little blue and light blue accent at the opening, the blue inside, the distressed supple appearance of the leather and the great sole that has the "tune in, vog out" on it with a radio are just great.

These are usually my day to day shoes and took no time to break in as the leather upper is malleable. Paired with the turquoise laces, these are a great and very smart, casual shoe. They are just dressy enough to be stylish but not so formal that you can't wear them with shorts and a t shirt.

They are also built to last so I can see myself getting these re-heeled and resoled many times as the years go by. The same can not be said for most sneakers and these are just as comfortable.

    Overall just a great shoe!

  • They were meant to be!!!

By accident we went into JF's while on Haight. It was raining and I told my son to go in to the shoe store so I can look at some shoes. The first pair that stood out like a sore thumb was the green RADIO. I could not believe how amazing these shoes were. My son tried them on and his face lit up!! I showed him a burgandy boot and his face was not the same as with the green shoes. Long story short he walked out with the Green Radio's. The look on his face....priceless!!

  • These shoes run small and narrow, but the 8 (I normally wear a 7) fits me perfectly. They are without a doubt the most comfortable shoes I own, and I walk everywhere in them without a problem.

I have the sky blue/beige plaid ones and will probably get more in other colors. Let me tell you, people have strong feelings about plaid shoes and comment on them constantly. If I weren't off the market, these shoes would get me so much play. It's ridiculous the degree of flirty stranger action they engender.

  • like a dream!

This is a dream-fit. Day one: from 10 AM to 9:30 PM, and I walked for 7 hours at a fair. Comfortable, comfortable, comfortable! I love these. (This is pair #5, and they just keep getting better.)

The burnt orange isn't an outrageous color. It's like a "normal" colored shoe --not unlike a brown or a tan-- but with a brighter, and an orange, hue. They're quite lovely.

The leather is soft and supple. The toe box is roomy. I wear an 8 1/2 shoe in everything but Fluevogs, where a 9 fits me perfectly every time.

These shoes came with cream colored laces PLUS an extra pair of orange laces! What a treat!

  • Black CBCs

It was a dark, cold night on Iceland Air flight 602 that I first saw CBCs. The flight attendant was wearing them. I mustered enough courage to ask him where he'd bought them and what brand they were. Reykjavik. Fluevog. It wasn't much, but it was a start. What I was missing was the style of the shoe. I searched high and low, in Oslo, on eBay and later the Fluevog store on Queen West in Toronto. I couldn't find them! And then, yesterday, on the last day of my trip to Edmonton I found those sweet babies perched on a rack at Gravity Pope on Whyte Avenue. I squealed like a teen aged girl. They're beautiful, classic shoes and they fit perfectly. I cannot wait to strut the streets of Toronto to show them off!

Awesome story! Make sure you check out our retail store on Queen Street for more colours in the CBC.

  • I'll take one in each, thanks.

Looks great on, feels even better. Got these in green, which is a very happy and easy color. Rubber on the sole, good soft but thick leather that makes my step sturdy. Fit perfectly right away. Quiet step, easy strides... ()-)

  • Better!

I now have three pairs of this shoe. Clearly I got the green leather ones as soon as they came out, followed shortly by the black canvas that they no longer make. I wasn't stoked on the build quality and they aren't very comfortable, but I don't wear them every day so whatever. I resisted the sky blue plaid variety for as long as I could, but ended up getting them yesterday. To my surprise, the quality of the shoe is completely different! Far more comfortable, with rubber on the sole and everything.

    Nice work!

After wearing the same shoes for 5 years ( 4 pairs) I thought I would try something different. In San Fran I tried on a pair of CBC and I liked them. I then tried on CYDWOQ and liked them. I waited. I live in Vancouver but I waited and when I was in Seattle I tried on both CYDWOQ and CBC and CBC won out. Amazing. Anyway they are getting topied at the moment but I love them, they arestretching nicely will only get better. ,-) ,-)

  • Almost perfect!

These are rad! I'm generally a 7 or a 7.5, got these in a 7 and they fit great. Love them with skinny jeans, shorts or skirts. The leather is beautiful (I have the blue which I think is sold out) and the fit is great. My only complaint is that despite me really babying these shoes, some of the metal grommets have come loose from the shoelace holes. Not cool, but I could probably take them into my shoe repair guy & see what he can do.

  • The perfect casual-lace up

I first saw (and then eventually bought them) these shoes in Toronto. I was there for vacation and was in a mission on getting a special 'anniversary' gift for myself. :) This was my first encounter with John Fluevog shoes. I passed the store three times as my eyes caught them from the window display, they kept lingering in my mind and then I finally decided to go in and check them out. I did this twice. Aside from just looking unique and great, they seemed of good quality and workmanship as well. After going passed the store and in and out for days, on my last day in Toronto, I decided I had to get them or else I was going to regret it for the rest of my life! It was like a movie! :D The people working in the store we're very helpful and 'encouraging' of course. And sure enough I wore it the same day! I had an instant oozing of self confidence as I had my first steps with these shoes. They were killer shoes for style and comfort. I wore them without socks (as it was summertime) and they fit like a glove, and my feet could breathe through the soft supple leather as well! I got compliments and second looks from passersby. Friends and random people compliment these awesome shoes! Like I said, it's the perfect casual lace-up. I dress it up sometimes with dark jeans and a jacket. I got the dark brown ones with the turquoise laces! HIP! I find that using a neutral shoe polish/wax works best. As it doesn't really change the color (darkens just a tad) and even enhances and protects the natural wear and grain of the leather. I tremendously enjoy this shoe John Fluevog! Thank you!

  • sorry to say

(-( Sorry to say this is my experience....I purchased these Radio CBC's in the new brown leather from the Chicago store and I was really excited, the fit was great and the leather is gorgeous but the construction is poor! When I got the shoes home I realized the foot bed in the toe area in one shoe had been glued down wrongly and was turned over on one side so I returned the shoes. The Chicago store is great and they were as surprised as me to see this, the policy is to have the shoes repaired and not replaced which was a little odd! to placate me I was offered a rubber sole upgrade for free which was nice and so I agreed, although it would take two weeks to have my faulty new shoes repaired. I also purchased some great wooden shoe keepers to aid in drying and holding the shape when not in use. So I picked up the shoes and they were lovely for two months of wearing them about 4 days a week before the bad Chicago weather set in. Gradually both heals began making strange clicking sounds and upon inspection the stacked compressed board heals had started to split and fall apart! this became so bad I have stopped wearing them. Now they sit in my closet waiting for the time when I will have the money to get the heals entirely replaced! at a further $50 cost. For an almost $200 pair of shoes I was shocked! the leather is fantastic but the heals and construction are pretty poor, on a par with much cheaper shoes. I am afraid to say I will not be spending another $200 at Fluevog but rather will look to brands that have superior construction and not just nice materials, such as Wolverine, sorry John!.

  • A story in plaid

Fall was upon us and i though with would look good on my feet for the fall... well a pair of CBC Radios in Burgundy that is what. So on to the horse i jumped and headed down to Boston, a bit of a trip from Ol' Vermont. But a few hours later I'm standing in heaven, the boston store. But to my dismay Rachel informs me that they have no Burgundy in my size in the CBC or my back up plan the BBC! Sad days, sad days indeed. So in a tizzy i try on the 200 other styles of fluevogs and darn it if i didn't end up dancing around in a pair of the new navel plaid CBCs...

They are perfect with cuffed jeans and if you have the gusto, with a nice suit. CBCs in either plaid WILL get noticed and people will comment. Some are good other are simply snarky about my choice of plaid. So if you don't want LOTS of attention go with a more subtle color such as black, brown or even the burgundy. As for fit they are next to perfect, no break in needed. The CBCs are bit wider than the BBC boots, though i did upsize from a 10.5 to a 11. (Same as i did with the BBCs) They easily accommodate the superfeet 3/4 insoles i wear in every shoe i have and the rubber 3/4 sole that has been added to that magnificent leather underside keep you upright in water, flour and oil. SO these are possibly the perfect shoe for kicking it around town, living in the middle of nowhere or even a bit of dress up for those important days at work. Not super fancy, get the herbert for that, but a classically styled shoe that you can wear for year. Or a funky classical styled shoe... depending on which one you choose.

  • WICKED!

I recently purchased the Fluevog "RADIO CBC" in green. I can honestly say they are extremely comfortable and really easy to travel with on long flights.

I fly to San Francisco each month and I usually take my shoes off, but these shoes are so comfortable I can just leave them on.

The green color is fantastic and truly unique. I even wore them to the closing of Wicked.

The shoes run about a half inch smaller than my other dress shoes so I ended up going up in size. But they are great. I'm already looking at other styles for my next purchase this week!

  • Comfortable & stylish

My wife and I were recently in Montreal and picked up a pair of the CBC Burgundy shoes in the Fluevog shop on Rue Denis... VERY stylish and oh-so more comfortable than you would ever imagine. Top quality craftsmanship! I was a little worried about finding a matching belt for the burgundy shoe... but found a P-E-R-F-E-C-T match in the mahogany color from Tannergoods.com! i just bought these. Since i could not decide on colors i bought two pairs... green and white. Crisis? What crisis?!I have been drooling over these for months and my piggy-bank gave his all. The white is more off-white than it looks on photo & shoes are not as wide as you'd think.

Incredibly COMFORTABLE shoes (very light) and equally incredibly CLASSY. Beautiful & original design when you see them from above, which one usually does. Love'em!!! @>-

  • I just bought these in plaid (vegan ones) and love them, but was wondering how best to protect the fabric? Should I use a all weather wax or is there another product that would be better?

  • Just what I wanted

I'd been eyeing up these CBCs for a while, waiting for a good time to buy them. Finally that time came.

I got the brown leather ones and am very impressed at the detail in the leather. They have some really awesome character. They will slowly become a part of my character until I find my next pair of 'vogs.

  • one of the best parts of my first trip to vancouver (high up was watching canada win olympic men's hockey) was discovering john fluevog and the fantastic radios. i bought a pair in brown which are most incredibly comfortable and definitively handsome -- suffice it to say they won't be my last fluevogs as i'd become a fan for life!

  • Preppy and hot

I've been waiting patiently for the release of the new Plaid CBCs since we got the sneek peek through Fluevog Creative. Bought them today and am in love. The fabric outer is super soft with a faux suede interior, they just beg to be worn.

  • help! they got polished!

These were some of the best looking shoes I've owned. Like, strangers stopping me on the street awesome. Then I wore out the heel and so I took it to the cobbler to get a new one, which was great, except that guy also did me a "favor" and polished them! Now they're shiny and don't look nearly as good. Is there anything I can do?

  • Snagged the green ones at the Toronto store and I have to say this is a shoe of distinction. After a week of wear it feels comfortably snug and the outside feels soft as butter. The staff was fantastically friendly and really knew their stuff. If funds would allow I'd pick up another pair of shoes from Fluevog. But as it stands I have to tell myself this first shoe is an investment piece. I don't have to tell myself very hard though because I love these things to death.

  • Second Fluevogs

Once again I bought in NYC instead of my home base of Boston. Got the Radio CBC in brown nubuck (so cool with the blue laces (they supply brown for use at work or other silly occasions) got many compliments while touring the city. My daughter starts at Uinv. of Toronto in two weeks - I hope for many more Fluevogs ,-)

  • Love them but...

Love these shoes - only problem is that I have the black canvas ones with the synthetic lining - VERY VERY hot. The heat inside makes my feet swell more than leather shoes do (higher temperature), then make the shoe dig into my feet where the shoe bends and at the back creating wounds. Bummer. Then I saw that a black leather version was released two weeks later. TOTAL BUMMER. So.... don't wear the canvas ones on warm days. P.S. These shoes fit a bit small- normally Fluevog size 10 is a bit too big and the 9s a bit snug- I went for the 10s in these and they seemed like a perfect fit after a full days work on my feet.

  • FIrst Vog but not last one

I bought the Black Canvas ones and absolutely love them. They are really comfortable right out of the box. I have wide feet but these fit perfectly. The sole does get scuffed easily (sad since it is a nice graphic) but they are super comfy. Plus you get all the cool pins and stickers, who doesn't love stickers? I will for sure buy another pair. My next pair I will go to the store though (which may be dangerous to my back account).

  • My first vogging experience

I absolutely love my Suede Radio CBCs. I actually think I'm going to get another pair soon, because they are lusciously comfortable; moreover the endless stream of complements that come with the shoes is a nice added perk :) Now if I could only figure out how to clean suede properly... then life would be golden.

  • Some things to consider...

These are great shoes. As soon as I saw them on JF email, I had to buy them. Two things I wanted to share though... 1) The sole material on the base of the heal is soft and it wears down really quick. I've only owned them for two weeks, but at this rate, I'll have to replace the heels in a couple months. 2) The cool leather look laminate material that makes up the heal of the shoe loses it sheen and starts to look kind of grotty. I've just used a protective wax and it seems to give it a nice uniform colour and shine. I still love 'em and would recommend them. I hope this helps...

    Heel Repair

    Greg

If you find your heels are wearing down quickly in the first few months, bring them to a Fluevog store and we will re-heel them for you asap.

  • I told CBC

I love love love the Radio CBCs. I let Stephen Quinn know, host of On the Coast. They are SO him. Every CBC employee should know about this homage to the best radio in the world!!

  • Kermit the Frog's dressy shoe

I really like the colour: two tone green flanked by the ubiquitous fluevog blue stripes on the heel. Soft suede conforms to your feet as after wearing for a week they are getting better with wear. Comfortable hard leather soles with rubber heels. Like the graphic on the bottom but mine are getting a bit scuffed up which can't be helped. A departure from the rest, unique colour with a classic shape.

  • So good.

I have already been stopped in the street twice on first day of wearing them. People love them. I love them. Much more comfortable than the original Radios. They are so good.
